* SotK wonders how much work its likely to be to make the plugin take a task ID and update task status, instead of/as well as creating comments10:06
ZaraI don't know10:06
Zarathat was meant to be me10:06
ZaraI find it difficult to find time to code :/10:07
Zaraor look at code10:07
ZaraI'd hope that it's not much more complicated since theoretically it's not very different10:07
Zaraiirc it has important words in a config file10:08
Zaraand then it behaves based on those10:08
Zaraso you'd just have story-task (or similar) with a task id as well10:08
Zaraand then follow the rules from the python thing, using the existing stuff as guidance on how to do java, lol10:09
pedroalvarezI'd say that someone with a bit of experience in its-plugins would do it in a couple of days10:09
openstackgerritThierry Carrez proposed openstack-infra/storyboard-webclient: Fix alignment of long-running simple events  https://review.openstack.org/33322510:10
Zarayeah, I actually suspect it'd take less than that for someone with knowledge. yeah, the other thing slowing me down is that I don't have an account in the its-plugins world and stuff so not sure how to get changes in yet.10:11
Zarawell it might take that long to merge but not that much effort10:11
SotKttx: thanks!10:11

Zarait's taken me four hours to notice there's a snake in the office.13:03
pedroalvarezso that you run quicker in this sprint?13:04
Zara:0 could be13:05
Zarathough I don't mind snakes.13:05
Zaraif it were a spider, I'd be sprinting13:05

Zaraarrrrrrrgh so behind with reviews today15:26
SotKI sent a WIP UI thing for editing comments: https://review.openstack.org/33341815:27
* SotK is gerritbot15:27
Zarahi gerritbot15:28
ZaraI'm going to look at the tags ones now15:28
Zarain the hopes something can be merged for the last bit of the bug sprint15:28
Zaraespecially as it's come up as a confusing thing in conversation15:28
SotKits WIP in the sense that we don't know if we want it for sure yet, and it doesn't have a way to show history yet15:28
Zara(ftr I'm fine with it not showing it if it's possible to get somehow through the api)15:29
Zarabut yeah, thanks15:29
* SotK wants it to show15:29
SotKsince if someone has edited their comment I'd like to see what they changed15:30
SotKlack of this is a thing that annoys me in places where editable comments are a thing15:30
Zarawell, I'd rather if it were shown, but I don't think that should block merging editing if it's possible to find out somehow, as I find lack of editing more annoying-- but I am only speaking for myself there15:30
ZaraI'm not too fussed whatever way.15:31

slaglehey all, i'm considering using some sort of tracker (trello, etc) to give more visibility into the status of our TripleO blueprints/bugs in launchpad16:33
slagleshould i consider giving storyboard a try?16:34
slaglei will probably have some tooling to query launchpad and update things in the tracker via api's16:35
Zarasure. :) if you'd like to test it out, there's storyboard-dev.openstack.org for making nonsense stories and things :)16:36
anteayayou can look at storyboard-dev if you like16:36
anteayastoryboard-dev.openstack.org16:36
anteayaand it is integrated with review-dev at the moment16:37
Zara(link: https://storyboard-dev.openstack.org )16:37
anteayaso you can see what a change with a story id in the commit message will leave as comments on a story16:37
slagleok, and if i decide to go forward with it, will i be able to get all the tripleo projects imported into the actual storyboard?16:38
anteayaslagle: well that would be a question for infra16:38
anteayaas infra would have to be involved in the migrating, but it is a reasonable question16:38
slaglealright, i probably dont want to migrate anything initially16:39
anteayafungi: are you available for a minute to offer an opinion on slagle's query on if tripleo wants to use storyboard can their launchpad information be migrated to storyboard?16:39
slaglemostly just duplicate what we have in launchpad16:39
anteayafungi: they are at the tire kicking stage16:39
fungianteaya: slagle: yes and no16:39
anteayaslagle: no not duplicate, migrate16:39
slagleso that we could have a "Board" view16:39
anteayaslagle: they would have to be on one place or the other16:40
fungithe main reason we're hoping to migrate all openstack projects at the same time is that some lp bugs have bugtasks for multiple projects16:40
anteayalest if confuse folks16:40
slaglei see16:40
slaglethe team is likely not ready to migrate any time soon16:41
anteayaother wise you have new information in both places making syncing up afterwards impossible16:41
fungiso it gets weird and divergent if there's a bug which affects both tripleo and nova and we migrate tripleo but not nova and then nova conversation continues in lp16:41
anteayaslagle: well it is worth taking a look at storyboard anyway, since we are getting ready to migrate everyone to it eventually16:41
fungiwe took the hit and migrated all of the infra projects (except for the one for gate failures) because there is virtually no cross-over with our bugs and non-infra projects16:41
anteayaslagle: so if you have time to evaluate it and share your feedback, I'm grateful to hear your thoughts16:42
slaglesure, i will give it a spin16:42
anteayaslagle: thanks16:42
anteayawe have integration with gerrit now16:42
fungiso yeah, if there are projects in tripleo with little cross-over to other projects they could in theory be migrated early, but that might also get confusing for your userbase. we're unfortunately stuck mostly needing to do a "big bang" migration for all official openstack projects when the time comes16:43
anteayaso if you go to gerrit-dev and have a patch with a story <story id> in the commit message, updates to the patch are comments on the story16:43
fungii should also mention that for closed or very slow-moving bugs it's likely not an issue, but it's hard to judge that16:44
fungi(the migration i mean)16:44
anteayaright16:45
anteayaslagle: if you go to https://review-dev.openstack.org/#/c/5454/16:45
anteayaand click the story link in the commit message16:45
slagleoh neat16:46
anteayain the comments you will see comments from OpenStack Gerrit Dev https://storyboard-dev.openstack.org/#!/story/1816:46
anteayayou can permalink to a comment: https://storyboard-dev.openstack.org/#!/story/18#comment-5116:46

openstackgerritZara proposed openstack-infra/storyboard-webclient: Show Each Task ID in Story Detail View  https://review.openstack.org/27266716:49
SotKanteaya: its still there for me. Are you logged in?16:52
anteayaI was not logged in, thanks SotK16:53
anteayaappears after loggin, thanks16:53
anteayaslagle: so the question I am asking folks is given the status of storyboard right now, could you get work done if you were to migrate tomorrow16:56
anteayaslagle: if you can't find out if a function is avialble please ask16:56
anteayaif there is something that would prevent you from getting work done if we were to migrate please tell me16:56
anteayawe know there are little things but we want to focus on blockers right now please16:57
anteayaslagle: and thank you16:57
slagleanteaya: sure, i will take a look at storyboard-dev and see what i think16:57
anteayaawesome thank you16:57
anteayaask lots of questions if you have them16:58
slaglemy initial impressions is that i could do everything with it that i would want to do in trello16:58
slagleand the openstack integration is tighter16:58
anteayawe are happy to help you learn the functionality16:58
slagleso that's good :)16:58
anteayayay!16:58
anteayaa happy customer16:58
anteaya\o/16:58
anteayathank you16:58
anteaya:)16:58
slaglemy initial goal here is just to explore how i can give people who are external to TripleO more visibility into what we are working on16:59
anteayayes good call17:03
anteayahave you encountered worklists and boards yet?17:04
anteayaslagle: here is a worklist: https://storyboard-dev.openstack.org/#!/worklist/1217:04
slagleyes i was looking at the boards feature earlier17:04
