openstackgerritSwapnil Kulkarni (coolsvap) proposed openstack-infra/storyboard: Replace deprecated LOG.warn with LOG.warning  https://review.openstack.org/29164910:25
Zaramorning, storyboard!10:41
SotKmorning!10:41
Zarahm, that applies to old migrations; not sure we apply that kind of thing retrospectively but guessing we do?10:41
pedroalvarezthat patch won't change the migrations, only how the migrations report warnings when running10:44
Zaraohhhh, okay10:45

Zaraokay, so that weird 500 when you add a bunch of tasks to a story, I'm wondering if it happens when you add a task from a different project11:06
Zara*when creating a new story11:06
ZaraI just created a story with 3 storyboard-webclient, 1 storyboard, and the storyboard task wasn't created (and gave me a 500).11:07
Zarathis is the one where, when you click save, it creates a story but gives a 500 error, doesn't move from the modal page, and clicking save again gives a 400 because there's already a story11:07
Zarait's happened to me a couple of times and it's going to be very annoying11:08
ZaraI also found a bug with the new story modal that opens when you click 'create story' from a card modal, but I'm not sure what triggered it or how frequently it'll occur11:09
ZaraI filled out all fields; 'save' was still greyed out and not interactive11:10
*** mrmartin has quit IRC11:18
* Zara adds ALL the task notes11:21
ZaraI am so happy11:21
*** mrmartin has joined #storyboard11:21
* SotK triggered that "save is still greyed out" bug yesterday too11:25
Zarainteresting, do you know if it's from all 'new story' modals?11:26
Zaraor just the one from card modal11:26
SotKThey all use the same code, so I'd imagine all of them11:27
SotKI got it using the button in the header bar11:27
Zaraoh, okay, so yeah, definitely both11:27
Zaramy working hypothesis is that the selected project didn't register for some reason11:27
Zarafor one of the tasks11:27
Zarabecause that kind of happened when I made another story11:28
Zarabut I put the project in again and selected it from the dropdown and it worked11:28
Zaraokay, yeah, reproduced, it's kinda like that11:30
Zaraif you type a project, then make some tasks and things afterwards, then go back and select the project for the earlier task from the dropdown, sometimes it still stays confused11:31
Zarathen the workaround is to delete that task and make it again11:31
*** mrmartin has quit IRC11:31
Zarabut sometimes it does work, so still a bit strange11:32

SotKd'you mean instead of the button color?11:45
Zaraalongside the button colour11:46
Zarayay, an ambiguous pony11:46
ZaraI tried quickly making a followup patch, then got in a tangle of <ng-class...> vs <i class...>11:46
Zaraand that just stopped all the buttons from displaying11:47
ZaraI like it, anyway.11:48
*** mrmartin has quit IRC11:48
Zarawhat I evennnntually envision is11:48
* SotK has a poke around11:48
Zarafa-sticky-o for no notes11:48
Zarafa-stick for notes11:48
Zaraand btn-primary for *new* notes11:49
Zarabut that's wayyyy more complicated11:49
SotKif we end up allowing multiple notes, it'd be cool to show the number on the button too11:49
ZaraI'm actually not sure 'multiple notes' is that important any more, where the field for notes is infinitely long (or close enough.11:50
ZaraI would like collaborative realtime editing on note descriptions, mainly for my own amusement11:50
Zaras/note descriptions/notes11:51
Zara(sometimes I think of them as descriptions becuase the code is effective = story descriptions)11:51
Zara*effectively11:51
ZaraI cannot type today11:51
Zara'fa-stick', what is that.11:51
Zaralet's represent everything in storyboard with a stick11:51

ZaraI made a story for task notes, anyway https://storyboard.openstack.org/#!/story/200051111:52
SotKZara: how's this look? http://storyboard.sotk.co.uk/#!/story/200032211:55
SotK(note: you can't save task details since the db is currently in a weird state)11:56
Zaraahhh11:56
ZaraI was wondering about that11:56
Zaraer, it currently looks the same as before when I start editing a task11:56
Zarathat is, fa-sticky-o on btn-primary11:56
Zarabut yeah, fa-sticky-o the rest of the time is nice11:57
SotKthat is fa-sticky-note on btn-primary, btn-primary is inverting the text colour I think11:57
Zaraoh, right11:57
Zarahm.11:57
Zarain that case I guess I want fa-sticky-note-o on both11:58
Zarasorry for the confusion :/11:58
Zaraand also I should prrrrrobably put the compliments before the criticisms, thanks for putting up with me xD11:58
ZaraI do the whole, 'well that bit works, so I just won't mention it' thing when I'm lazy.11:59
* SotK is trying sticky-note-o now12:01
* SotK doesn't mind :)12:01
Zaraheh :)12:02
SotKhttp://storyboard.sotk.co.uk/#!/story/2000322 now uses fa-sticky-note-o12:11
Zaragahhh, so that just makes the icon the same colour as the button12:12
Zaraso actually, what I wanted originally... was fa-sticky-note but not inversed on btn-primary12:13
Zaraklfdjasfkla12:13
Zarawhite post-it empty. black post-it full. gahhhh12:15
Zaraoh, also found a bug12:15
Zaraso after you cancel editing, button acts as though there are notes12:15
Zarauntil a refresh12:15
Zaraso I'm not sure if that's my modal code being bad12:16
Zaraor if it's to do with the ng-class for the button12:16
SotKit'll be because it edits task.link in its representation, but doesn't push the changes to the server12:16
Zaraah. it's confusing for users. :/12:17
Zarathey'll assume, like I did, that they didn't cancel and 'saved' by mistake12:17
Zaraor saved because of a bug12:18
Zaraso maybe it should refresh the page... though that's kinda slow12:18
* Zara sadly notes it on gerrit12:20
* SotK solved it in the card modal by using a second variable as the ng-model, then making the save button set the description to the value of the second variable before saving (and the cancel button reset the second variable to the original description)12:22

Zarayes xD12:41
Zaraminus the 'not reacting right to cancel', anyway12:41
Zarathen in the future we only make it go red when someone adds a new note.12:41
Zaraso you have 'empty', 'full', 'look at this!'12:42
SotKthat seems sensible to me12:44
Zara:) actually coding the new note bit will probably be a bit horrible, so I've no timeline for that \o/12:45
Zaraalso I have not yet started on my card modal section for adding notes12:45
ZaraI should do that12:45
Zaraoh we also need recent events templates for task notes12:55

Zaraahh, right, hm.17:51
pedroalvarezit's ok though :)17:52
pedroalvarezI have task notes :D17:52
persiaAre they annotated in a semantic way that means one with primary colour (green) can recolor them from black?17:53
Zarapedroalvarez: I guess we could change the note colour back to white if it bothers people, but the end goal is to only use the primary colour for new notes-- but that could take a while to do. if it's annoying for your users then I'm fine with changing it back, even if I prefer the black note. :P17:55
Zarapersia: people can't recolour them at the moment, no17:55
Zarathere's no timeline for the fixes that would make that possible, either.17:55
ZaraI'm working on this until SotK sends me a wall of automatic boards and worklists patches.17:55
* persia is reminded of http://thecodelesscode.com/case/9517:56
Zarawell it's the case where the icon has a black outline, but is currently all black, so it's harder to see on a dark branding colour17:57
Zarawhereas in white, it's distinguishable17:57
Zarabut stands out less from 'empty' notes in a big list17:57
Zara(and once people know what the icon is, they don't need to work it out again (plus there's a tooltip).) so I'm not too fussed whatever, if there's a big backlash I'll change it until we have time to make it fancier.17:58
persiaUnderstood.  In my dream world, there is an "iconoutline" (or whatever capitlaisation one likes) property whose color can be adjusted to be sufficiently distinguishable.  It may be that this references an palette element, so that one can maintain a consistent palette when altering presentation, or it may be that it just hardcodes a colour, so that when changing colours, one has to do much dancing.17:59
persiaHowever, as time passes, I find more and more data that seems to indicate that neither my perceptions nor those reported by others indicate that this is my dream world :)18:00
Zarayou can probably already play with it in the css if you really want, just not from the ui.18:01
Zarawe just try to provide sensible defaults18:02
persiaAs you ought :)18:02
Zara(this is a reason there is no colour-coding on the kanban; too high a chance of clashing/blending with branding)18:02
Zara(plus one of my original thoughts was that if someone's btn-primary was light, the notes would be hard to distinguish from empty ones, whereas there's no danger of that happening. though I don't know if/when it switches from black to white, so maybe I was wrong to assume that could happen.18:08
Zara*that happening if the colour is always the inverse of the empty colour18:09
* persia is enlightened18:09
Zara:)18:11
SotKI'd imagine if someone sets a light `background-color` for btn-primary they'll also set a dark `color`18:12
Zaraheh, well I'll change it back if people hate it. :) It doesn't look *nice* atm, so I won't fight. I figured it was easier to distinguish.18:16

openstackLaunchpad bug 743265 in freeciv (Ubuntu Natty) "When using unity, the diplomacy and cities menus are not shown." [Undecided,Fix released]21:41
persiaIt seems that the overloaded display field is assignee: when LP knows that another tracker is responsible for the bug, it doesn't offer the ability to assign someone in LP, but rather directs people to the right tracker for that.  It doesn't work for GNA, but for other trackers, LP can sometimes scrape status.21:42
