sgwslittle1: https://en.opensuse.org/openSUSE:Build_Service_Appliance15:48
sgwIs this the link?15:48
sgwslittle1: or this one: https://openbuildservice.org/download/15:51
sgwdirk: is there an existing OBS Docker container image that we can pull?15:51
dirksgw: you mean a docker image that contains a ready to use private build service instance?15:57
sgwdirk: yes16:00
sgwFor some internal testing of a StarlingX specific OBS16:01
dirksgw: I don't know, let me google16:08
dirkLooks like yes: https://hub.docker.com/r/openbuildservice/backend16:09
sgwdirk: I think slittle1 already did try that, I thought maybe there might be something you knew of.16:09
dirkNever tried it16:09
sgwdirk: thanks16:09
sgwslittle1: I just rebased my sysadmin changes in https://review.opendev.org/#/c/658211/816:10

slittle1thanks Saul, I'll start a build16:26
sgwslittle1: are you starting a scratch build or build-avoidance?16:34
slittle1full16:35
sgwjust curious why vs build-avoidance?16:36
slittle1The reference build needs to be based on committed git content.  Previous build, the patches were applied but not added/committed.16:38
slittle1Could use incremental build in the previous builds workspace for speed16:39

sgwslittle1:  the idea would be to package up the flock repos (let's take fault for example) as a versioned tarball: fault-1.0.tar.gz which contains a toplevel directory fault-1.0/..., just as upstream projects such as the kernel or bash manage their taiball.  The versioning would come from the git tag information vX.Y (with additional extensions as needed for dot-dot or rcX releases)20:07
sgwslittle1: we are working to get the version-ing specification written20:08
