Is there any example of how the statsd UI will look like? | ||

@clarkb:matrix.org | tdlaw: OpenDev has a grafana system at https://grafana.opendev.org and some if the dashboards are using the zuul data | 04:24 |
@g_gobi:matrix.org | Thank you. Is there any metric to see the success rate of any pipelines? | 04:27 |

@clarkb:matrix.org | I think that info is available but we aren't graphing it | 04:27 |
@g_gobi:matrix.org | Oh okay. Thank you. | 04:34 |

@amusso:matrix.org | I am not active on Zuul anymore but I am pretty sure the gating feature was its killer feature. GitHub rolled their merge queue feature: https://github.blog/2023-07-12-github-merge-queue-is-generally-available/ , there is a video giving an overview. In short it creates a temporary branch is created that contains: the latest changes from the base branch, the changes from other pull requests already in the queue, the changes from your pull request | 13:47 |
@amusso:matrix.org | Which is basically what Zuul has been doing since its inception. There is no cross project repositories support though :-] | 13:47 |
@amusso:matrix.org | not sure how they handle failures though :) | 13:47 |
@amusso:matrix.org | well it is described at https://docs.github.com/en/repositories/configuring-branches-and-merges-in-your-repository/configuring-pull-request-merges/managing-a-merge-queue#failing-ci , PR failing ahead in the queue is dropped and the temporary branches are recreated to take in account the new state. So pretty much like Zuul :] | 13:49 |
@jim:acmegating.com | well, we haven't been sitting still. next they can copy what we've been doing with containers. :) | 13:59 |
@fungicide:matrix.org | Antoine Musso: gating was zuul's killer feature in 2012. now it's just one (and probably the oldest) in an ever growing list of killer features | 14:18 |
@fungicide:matrix.org | so yes, it's good to see github has reached parity with where we were more than a decade ago | 14:19 |
@fungicide:matrix.org | though, as with all things, i'm sure the simpsons did it first | 14:20 |
