bjackmanMay be missing something obvious here, but is there a way to report failure from a Zuul job except by having a playbook task fail? Something in zuul_return?06:29
*** rfolco has quit IRC06:29
bjackmanI guess my real question is - how do I both set something in zuul_return (I want to add file comments), and fail the check? Maybe I just have to use a "block/always" in the playbook...06:30
pabelangerbjackman: right, you can block / always in ansible for that. eg: block on fail, and always zuul_return06:31
*** threestrands has quit IRC06:34

corvusbjackman, pabelanger: you can also use zuul_return in a post playbook (which will still run after the main playbook fails)08:17
Diabelkocorvus: in relation to yesterday's forum: if I have forked openstack-infra/zuul-jobs to my org, am I zuul-jobs user or not? ;)08:19
corvusDiabelko: yes -- but it would be best if you still submitted changes upstream, and pulled/merged upstream periodically.  but yes, we expect that some people will want to use it directly, and others will want to use a local fork so they can control when changes happen08:22

bjackmanBTW, I had quite a hard time figuring out how to use zuul_return, it might be worth putting a full example in the "Job Content" page of the docs - in particular I had to look in zuul-jobs to find examples and figure out to put "delegate_to: localhost"09:29
bjackmanThe docs say "To return a value, use the zuul_return Ansible module in a job playbook running on the executor ‘localhost’ node" which took me a long time to translate into a config that worked!09:30
pabelangerbjackman: yah, I think https://review.openstack.org/#/c/591168/ is likely the best way forward to help simplify zuul_return09:34
pabelangersince it only can run on 'localhost'09:34

manjeetsand zuul-config project in here I made it to get from fork I have https://github.com/manjeetbhatia/zuul-config18:48

manjeetshttp://paste.openstack.org/show/734830/18:50
manjeetsException: Project zuul-config is already in project index18:50
manjeetsI tried changing code to bypass that but somehow it uses container images from upstream somewhere, so I couldn't get pass this18:51

SpamapSmaybe python 3.6 changed something because the unit tests also had trouble on 3.5 but not 3.6. :-P21:54
