ZaraHi, everyone! :) I'm trying to install the storyboard webclient, but I'm getting errors on the 'run a local development server' (tox -egrunt_no_api -- serve ) step : http://sprunge.us/Eaei . Does anyone know what I might be doing wrong?11:09
persiaLooking about, I see lots of reports of that issue, including several with Storyboard, the most recent from 4th December.11:26
persiaThe solution doesn't show in the log, aside from a comment "Might have found a symlink error, testing", suggesting that it is the sort of minor oversight that folk might think foolish after they understand.11:27
Zaraokay, I'm currently trying to install the missing modules one by one; I keep having to delete extra lockfiles so maybe that's why things didn't install the first time.11:42
SotKZara: I encountered a similar-looking problem, I "fixed" it by doing `sudo rm -rf ~/.npm/*` and running the tox command again11:44
persiaThat sounds like the easiest solution.  "Try again" seems common advice for the missing grunt-cli issue.11:44
Zaraokay, I'll try that. I'm not sure if it's worth noting in the docs if it happens to a lot of people-- or if it's not directly storyboard-related so that's not really the place for it.11:47
persiaIf there is some way that the Storyboard grunt configuration exacerbates the issue, then that is worth fixing.  Otherwise, I think I agree it isn't really about Storyboard.11:56
ZaraI don't know the code well enough, so I might investigate it in a bit and see if I can find anything. :)11:59
Zarahm, I tried 'npm install grunt-cli', and it still couldn't find it; turns out it was trying to install it in storyboard/storyboard-webclient/node_modules , which wasn't on the NODE_PATH. looks like I might need to either export that path, or run the command elsewhere.12:06
