sgwslittle1: Checking PKG-INFO usage, can it mostly be removed as part of the versioning work?  It seems to be a backup to looking in specfile, build_srpm, is that correct?17:13
slittle1agreed, not longer  referenced for most (all?) packages17:14
sgwJust the few that have local build_srpm scripts that I sent the WIP patches for17:15
sgwI am thinking a mass removal and purge the scripts that reference them17:16
slittle1i suspect they date back to our early experience with building python pkgs under yocto .... vague memory... might be of the mark on that17:20
sgwok, there seems to be a couple of places where version does also come from build_srpm.data instead of the spec file, I think sm* was the cases I found, any reason not to change that also?17:24
slittle1I think I'd leave the versions in the build_srpm.data.  They need the version number in the tarball path/name as well, and are trying to have a single point of change when upversioning.18:26
slittle1I guess that's a pain for Multi-OS18:27
