marianitoGood morning!14:32
dpenney_good morning!14:33
marianitoHi! I was reading starlingxR2 docs, baremetal R2 AIO Simplex.  In the starlingx kubernetes section it says to Select ‘Standard Controller Configuration’ in the menu. Is it ok? because the other options are to install AIO..14:37
dpenney_no, that would be an error in the doc. For either AIO Simplex or Duplex, you'd want to select the AIO installation choice14:45
marianitoOk, I was thinking the same thing..14:55

marianitoIn the creation of the localhost.yml the first row is "system_mode: standard"15:12
dpenney_that would also seem to be wrong. I think that should be "simplex" for AIO Simplex15:15
marianitoGreat!15:16
sgwMorning all15:16
dpenney_marianito: looks like there's already a bug raised for the error in the docs: https://bugs.launchpad.net/starlingx/+bug/184299315:19
openstackLaunchpad bug 1842993 in StarlingX "installation guide issue for AIO baremetal deployment" [Undecided,New]15:19
marianitoYes, I  would add a comment with this issue of the localhost.yml15:20
marianitoThe difference is that bug is for AIO duplex, but the same thing happens for AIO Simplex..15:24

marianitoAnother thing i find is that simplex AIO does not need to configure MGMT net..16:32
marianitoWell finished the installation and now get this msg "vSwitch socket memory must be allocated for numa node (0)." when trying to unlock controller-017:00
dpenney_That sounds like a provisioning step described here: http://lists.starlingx.io/pipermail/starlingx-discuss/2019-August/005834.html17:04
marianitoGreat i did it but only for the controller not for openvswitch which it is not mentioned in the guide.. I'll try it17:13

sgwslittle1: I just noticed that stx-tools was not renamed, is there plans to rename that one also?18:04
dpenney_sgw: there are a number of references to stx-tools in scripts and such under that repo, so I guess they'd all need to be updated as part of that change18:18
dpenney_plus maybe changes in cengn scripts18:19
sgwRight, that makes sense, I guess that could be a future todo, I also noticed as I am doing a local rebuild that we still use pike for a sub-directory!18:21

g-man83I'm having trouble deploying starlingx in libvirt. Specifically platform-integ-apps fails to apply.18:45
g-man83The problem seems to be related to a local image registry registry.local:9001 which is not accessible18:46
g-man83I do not remember seeing any instructions about setting up a local registry in the deployment manual18:46
g-man83anyone home?19:04
dpenney_I forwarded your question to some folks but haven't gotten an answer. You could send it to the starlingx-discuss mailing list. I don't know if folks are using libvirt to run starlingx. As for the local registry, I *think* it gets setup by ansible, but not sure19:06
dpenney_response I just got suggests: 1. check ‘ceph -s’, the application should not be applied unless the cluster is healthy19:09
dpenney_ ... 2. verify that the image was pushed to the registry: system registry-image-list19:09
dpenney_ ... 3. verify that he can pull from the external source?19:09
g-man83Oh, Ok. Thanks for the reply. ceph -s shows a healthy cluster (health: HEALTH_OK), system registry-image-list returns empty and ...19:12
g-man83I see that I can not download from external source because of a DNS problem. I'll fix it and see if that was the issue. Thanks a lot for the help!!19:13
dpenney_ok... good luck!19:13
