anyrude10_Hi Team, I want to setup StarlingX simplex 2018.10 setup, but I don't have DPDK support on my machine as a result of which the compute is in degraded state and i can see error in ovs-vswitch logs. Can someone please suggest an alternative? Can I create a StarlingX Simplex Setup without DPDK support?11:29

sgwo/17:09
dtroyerslittle1: I just saw your ML reply, b) is good.   I'll wait about 10 min than ask fungi to do the push17:10
dtroyerfor the logs: https://github.com/dtroyer/ansible-playbooks-staging-1 is what we are proposing to force-push over starlingx/ansible-playbooks17:11
slittle1looks good17:16
slittle1is it only playbookconfig, and not playbooks as well ?17:20
dtroyerthat is all that is in the original ansible-playbooks repo, do we need more?17:23
dpenneythe playbooks directory in stx-config is zuul-related17:23
dpenneyit was only the playbookconfig directory that was moved17:24
slittle1Tee confirmed as much17:25
slittle1Tee isn't on IRC yet,  I've forwarded Deans link to her to have a look17:26
dtroyerslittle1, dpenney: fungi just finished the push, have a look at https://opendev.org/starlingx/ansible-playbooks/commits/branch/master17:43
dtroyerlocal repos will need to be re-cloned17:43
dpenneycool!17:45
slittle1'repo sync --force-sync' appears to be sufficient to load the new history17:49
dtroyergood to know...17:51
*** rcw has joined #starlingx17:51
dtroyerI'll send a note to the ML if everyone here is happy with it17:51
sgwGreat, I will get my reviews pushed shortly17:51
dpenneyit looks right to me... thanks dtroyer17:52
dtroyersgw: that will be good, that will be the first validation via zuul that the jobs are ok17:52
slittle1Thanks Dean.17:54
dtroyerslittle1: does cengn do any repo caching that might need to be refreshed?17:55
slittle1If 'repo sync --force-sync' works, we should be good.17:57
dtroyercool, good to know for the future, thanks17:58
slittle1I'll trigger a build anyway, just to be sure.17:58
slittle1I might abort this build if Saul's stuff merges quickly.17:59
sgwI am working on the rebase right now17:59
*** rcw has quit IRC18:04
dpenneysgw: once you post the updated reviews, can you send an email to the mailing list to announce it, so test teams or anyone else can do whatever they need to prepare for it in the next build? I think we should be able to get it approved and merged today, and in for tonight's build18:12
dpenneyI've chatted with Ghada, Numan, and others here about it so we're good to go on our end18:13
sgwdpenney: just finished pushing those rebases18:14
sgwWill send an email now18:14
dpenneyzuul test succeeded on the ansible review18:19
sgwlooks like config needs a second +2 and +W and we are waiting on Zuul checks in general.18:22
dpenneyyep, Bart's looking at that now18:22
dpenneyso once all the zuul checks pass, I think we go ahead and merge it... any last thoughts?18:23
dpenney:)18:23
bwensleyDo it!!!18:24
sgwdpenney: not that I can think of, I will be off for a a lunch time workout shortly18:25
dpenneyand the reviews in zuul are all consecutive numbers, so easy to track and watch ;)18:25
dpenneyI'll keep an eye on it and get it moving once zuul passes18:25
dpenneysgw: your reviews are now in the gate queue18:55

dpenneysgw: everything merged19:37
sgwdpenney: great, so I am guessing slittle1 fired a fresh internal build and this will be picked up by the nightly later20:40
dpenneythe one launched at 2pm for the ansible repo change is still running. The Monday night build is scheduled a little earlier, at 7:30 I believe, due to the docker images... so I'd say it's just as well to wait for the nightly20:42

sgwdtroyer: stupid Zuul question time, and maybe this needs to be asked in infra, but I will start here.21:52
sgwdtroyer: can a Zuul job be run inside a custom docker container?21:53
dtroyerA Zuul job could launch a container that then runs something, yes.  There are considerations around building images and network connectivity that may matter in terms of job reliability but those can be dealt with22:05
dtroyerI know there are jobs doing exactly that, I don't recall offhand where22:05
dtroyersgw ^^22:05
sgwdtroyer: if you remember let me know, otherwise I guess I can ask in the #zuul channel22:07

*** mriedem has quit IRC22:27
dtroyersgw: you might ask in -infra about that, they have channel ops22:33
sgwWill do22:33
* sgw Folks: ny issues with me taking a role as Channel Op to set the topic and other channel op related things?22:43
*** ChanServ changes topic to "Discussion for the StarlingX Community | Home https://www.starlingx.io/ | E-mail starlingx-discuss@lists.starlingx.io | channel logs http://eavesdrop.openstack.org/irclogs/%23starlingx/"22:51
sgwdtroyer: better?22:51
dtroyersgw: looks great, thanks23:35
dtroyersgw: re docker zuul jobs… I'm looking through opestack/kolla, they do a bit of setup for docker in heir base job.  openstack/openstack-helm also does some docker stuff but is less obvious23:50
