bwensley@dtroyer - I'm looking at the new opendev.org git browser and can't see any way to do a blame. Does the new tool support that?12:24
dtroyerbwensley: I'm not sure if gitea has that or not, I'll poke around.12:27
bwensleyThanks. Would be super useful to have that.12:27
dtroyeragreed, and that is the one thing I used to go to github for…12:28

dtroyerdpenney__: yes, thise are the fixes for the various changes dure to OpenDev migration16:13
dpenney__ok, we can chase folks to get things approved/merged16:21

dpenney__dtroyer: how does the stx-manifests change correlate with the various tox.ini changes? if the manifests xml is cloning repos to the prior stx-* paths to support builds, doesn't that misalign with some of the tox changes to remove the stx- prefix? like https://review.opendev.org/#/c/654265/2/tox.ini16:32
*** sgw has joined #starlingx16:33
dtroyerdpenney__: it does.  I made the changes so the jobs in the gate will run, but deciding to change the directory names in the build workspace is a much bigger change and requires more thought.  There may be other ways to get those dependencies satisfied.16:37
dtroyerI really do not know where else assumptions live about the names of those git directories.16:37

dtroyerThere are some things I want to start pulling out into separately installable repos/packages, starting with client libs & similar.  The dependency between fault and config (really just fm-rest-api needing cgts-client) caused me most of Saturday morning.  In the process I dod this as a POC: https://github.com/dtroyer/stx-system-client16:40

cfriesendtroyer: I'm looking at your opendev cleanup commits...no story/task/bug for these?18:30
*** rcw has joined #starlingx18:30
dtroyercfriesen: No, what would the benefit be to have that?18:30
cfriesendtroyer: there's no context in the commit message, so I don't know why the change is being made18:31
cfriesenor what it's supposed to accomplish18:31
dtroyerAh, well we have been talking about that transition for 5 weeks, I guess I hoped this would not be the first time anyone has heard about it...18:31
cfriesendtroyer: the git commit repo is supposed to be standalone for someone else reading the commit history18:32
cfriesenI mean *I* know what is going on, but someone else just downloading the git repo wouldn't18:32
*** ijolliffe has quit IRC18:33
dtroyerSure, so the real problem is the lack of commit message content, and that is totally on me.  I complain enough about that myself so I'll take that one.  The rest is project layer stuff and is all outside the repo history.18:34
cfriesenIt's not the end of the world, so I did just +W the commit.18:35
dtroyerThat said, I was having so much fun sorting out the dependecies between repos when they all broke at once that I really was not thinking or caring about anything other than fixing the jobs…18:35
cfriesenheh...understood18:36
dpenney__dtroyer, the effort is definitely appreciated18:36
dtroyerThere are still a number of updates to be made, mostly in docs where the long-form can be added18:37
*** ijolliffe has joined #starlingx18:39
dtroyerdpenney__: thanks18:40
dtroyercfriesen: I _did_ manage to create this story to start collecting thoughts and concrete steps toward breaking down some of those dependencies: https://storyboard.openstack.org/#!/story/2005495  That may not be the right place for a discussion though…  I would like to collect thoughts from you guys about what makes sense in terms of thinking about common libraries (tsconfig, platform_utils) and client bits.18:42
