GerdAschemann[m]Bear with me if the following is a FAQ or there is an obvious solution (or non-solution for any reason), as I am rather new to OpenStack. Is there a test double (or mock service or fake service or however you would call it) for OpenStack/API available? I would like to do some automated testing without really creating resources? The best case would be if it is somehow customizable, e.g., to inject errors or delays.07:32
GerdAschemann[m]Upto now, I was using a full instance or devstack, but I am more into some surrounding systems and would mostly not require real world resources but only some mocking of the OpenStack API behaviour.07:32
GerdAschemann[m]Thanks for any suggestion or pointers.07:32

fricklerGerdAschemann[m]: the only thing I'm aware of that fits your idea is the "fake" driver in nova, which allows you to create instances without actually needing available compute resources07:40
frickleron the topic of testing with errors, you may want to take a look at https://opendev.org/openstack/whitebox-tempest-plugin07:41
