RichiHsoren, ttx: if there's anything in ways of "what is openstack" i would still like to look over it if that's OK.08:07
RichiHsoren: what does the presenter console do?08:08
ttxRichiH: it allows to cheat.08:08

RichiHttx: ah. i usually hold them by heart and without notes anyway08:10
ttxRichiH: that's because you rock. We don't.08:10
RichiHttx: i would attribute it to the fact that i usually _just_ finished the slides before going onto stage, but your version sounds a lot better08:11
sorenThere's a *massive* thunderstorm coming my way. If I disappear, it's probably because of that. Somehow.08:13
RaziqueI was wondering, while I still have 404 errors, when the instance tries to get it's metadatas, When I try to do a manual wget http://169.254.169.254 from the nova-compute, I've a connection refused. Is it an expected behaviour ?08:14
sorenI'm not entirely sure if that's what we expect to happen, but whatever the expected result is, it won't help you understand why it doesn't work from your instances. All instances access the URL. The meta-data service gives its response based on the source IP (which will be different when you access it from your compute node).08:16
Raziquesoren: do you mean there is a restriction based on outbound ip ?08:17
sorenRazique: I'm not sure what you mean.08:20

Raziquesoren: you say that the meta-data service serve a different response based on the source IP. My word "restriction" is incorrect, but, it means, that I could have an access denied If I query it with the compute-node ip while I could have a grant if I query it from an instance ?08:25

alandmanWe're running compute on W2K8R217:59
alandmanHaven't tried at all on Win718:00
NashTrashalandman: I meant more getting a Windows 7 vm running on top of a nova-compute node.18:00
alandmanNashTrash: There is a  bit of documentation http://wiki.openstack.org/HypervInstall18:00
alandmanNashTrash: Ah I haven't tried that at all yet...18:02
NashTrashalandman: Yeah, I only came across some old Q&A but it didn't seem to use Glance18:02

annegentleNashTrash: no docs published yet, but there's a "stub" chapter in lp:openstack-manuals in the /doc/source/docbkx/openstack-compute-admin/ directory18:19
annegentleNashTrash: if you want to add your notes as you go that'd be great, and check with JordanRinke too18:20
annegentleNashTrash: though, er, HyperV only runs Windows 2008 instances I believe18:22

alandmanannegentle: You can run Linux on HyperV compute nodes. We're doing it now18:23
annegentlealandman: ok, good to know!18:27

NashTrashannegentle: Cool.  I am looking at a coupe of the UEC with Windows tutorials and will see how it goes.  I hope to build a KVM compatible image.18:31
*** hggdh has joined #openstack18:32
annegentleNashTrash: ok, yeah I realized KVM would work too :) I don't have specific, detailed enough docs on hypervisors + images18:32
annegentleNashTrash: definitely topics worth covering18:32
NashTrashannegentle: Well, hopefully I can give you something to work with :)18:32
