TVierniongmann did the OPS meeting happen and I missed it?15:51
TViernionI've been watching openstack-operators for a bit.15:51
gmannTViernion: i think it did not happen today. This is meeting info http://eavesdrop.openstack.org/#OpenStack_Ops_Meetup_Team15:54
gmannTViernion: Erik replied on ML, hope you read that.15:57
TViernionI did15:58
TViernionWe've gone back and forth also15:58
gmannohk15:59
gmannmay be next week meeting will happen but i cannot confirm that. leaving msg on #openstack-operators channel might help.16:01
TViernionI also noticed in the link yo usent me that it's 0800 cst .. makes no difference i'm usually at the office by 6:30 CST16:08
TViernionI have been attempting to install devstack on centos7, but i keep running into python issues and that even with starting a bash using python3.6 so i've gone ahead and am trying it on a fresh ubuntu install now16:13
spotzTViernion: Catching up. No meeting today as folkls were busy and our one action item was being discussed via email.16:19
spotzTViernion: gmann and I can probably help with devstack let us know16:19
TViernionNo worries spotz ... I'm wrangling with the devstack install right now. I would love to get it up and running on cent, but it's not cooperating.16:19
spotzTViernion: Try packstack for centos or you can try an OSA or tripleo AIO16:20
spotzI know devstack is supposed to run now on centos but I always think packstack and centos16:21
TViernionGood to know.  I love virtual machines.  Something didn't work? Blow it away and restore!  lol16:21
gmannTViernion: for devstack queries, we can discuss on #openstack-qa channel. devstack would not run on centos7 (few fixing are up already), devstack on centos8 is ongoing  - https://review.opendev.org/#/c/688614/16:23
gmannTViernion: if you want on centos7 then you can use stable version of devstack instead of master16:24
TViernionDidn't even know there was an openstack-qa .. headed there now.16:24
spotzMaybe we need to make/write something about the different channels and ML?16:25
TViernionThat would have been helpful, but you guy's have slowly gotten me there. I do appreciate it!16:26
TVierniongoing to try a packstack install too. Thanks for that spotz ... and didn't even think to change out of master16:28
spotzTViernion: Yeah so if there is an openstack version you're targeting for your real install you should install that version of devstack/packstack/etc16:29
gmannwe have that i think16:29
TViernionI'm definitely going to get that right with packstack on the install... not much I can do about the ubuntu install as it's already running at the moment16:30
TViernionLooks like stein is what packstack is installing16:30
gmannthis is for ML info wiki: http://lists.openstack.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo16:32
gmanncannot find IRC channel list which was there in wiki.16:32
gmannwiki redirecting to contributor guide which is redirecting to meeting channel list only - http://eavesdrop.openstack.org/#channels16:33
gmannI remember we use to have a wiki to list all projects channel with purpose statement.16:34
TViernionand son of a biscuit.. xshell is in the middle of crashing on me. -.-16:35
TViernionIt's still connected so i'ma just leave it going right there lol16:36
TViernionAnyone have any idea about how long the install with packstack should take?17:18
gmannTViernion: no idea on packstack. Community developers and CI/CD use devstack which usually takes ~1 hours to setup the env on 8 gb VMs .17:38
TViernionComing up on the 1 hour mark on the ubuntu devstack ... 6gb ram17:41
TViernionubuntu has moved on to tempest install ...18:29
TViernionWell I'll be darned. Ubuntu completed18:37
TViernionTotal run time 142 minutes18:44
TViernionannnnd packstack is done.. interesting.. about 20% less time18:50
gmanncool18:58
TViernionOh they definitely want more than 6gb ram lol19:02
TViernionspotz, have you used packstack?19:04
TViernionAbosolutely stuipd question... upon rebooting the machine... shouldn't the dashboard automatically come back up?19:44
spotzTViernion: Yep I've usedit19:52
spotzYes it should19:52
spotzNow devstack isn't meant to survive a reboot unless there's been some changes20:11
*** martial has joined #openstack-upstream-institute20:31
TViernionOh boy. Sooo.. Rebuild?20:39
TViernionI'm assuming the same thing on the ubuntu setup as well.. oh well. I can let it run a bit lol20:58
TViernioninteresting the devstack install i did on ubuntu restarted just fine22:33
spotzOk then that's improved, there used to be a restack command22:42
spotzAnd I do apologize for typoes, I really need to get a new keyboard on my mac22:42
