marcinj | Hello. I have question about container synchornizaton and versioned writes (X-History-Location). I have two clusters, lets say: Cluster1 and Cluster2. Between them I using container sync, one container by each site - lets say container_cluster1 <-> container_cluster2. Synchronizaton works fine. On container_cluster2 I have configured a X-History-Location to container on local cluster. And here i | 10:04 |
marcinj | have problem. After deleting object in container_cluster1, object is deleted in container_cluster2. But in history container i have multiple (18) "thumbfiles" with 0 Content-Lenght, and delete marker Content-Type. It is know issue? | 10:04 |

Nicolas | Hi openstack-swift folks, I hope you are doing good ! I have a quick question and was hoping you could provide some lights. We recently "inherited" the management of an openstack swift cluster running with Stein, and we observed a weird behavior where every swift copy operations that include a file larger than 3.5GB is always ending up with a 504 error. The upload itself works fine, it's just the copy part. | 14:02 |
Nicolas | Are you aware by any chance of a limitation within Swift on the size of objects for those copy operations or eventually a known bug ? Looking through them I don't see anything, and we are below the 5GB limit. | 14:02 |
seongsoocho | Nicolas: Arw you using | 14:34 |
seongsoocho | Are you using nginx or haproxy in front of proxy-server? | 14:34 |
seongsoocho | There were cases where the proxy server took a long time to copy the object and gave a late response, which took a timeout of nginx or haproxy. | 14:36 |
Nicolas | We are using haproxy in front of the proxy-server, so in that case a parameter change for the duration of the requests may do the trick ? | 14:40 |
Nicolas | Thanks for replying by the way ! | 14:40 |
Nicolas | I have checked and indeed, the value for the timeout on the haproxy side is set to 1m, every requests failling at exactly 60 seconds, I should have checked this first, thanks seongsoocho for the lead ! | 15:01 |
seongsoocho | You're welcome. And the question I also have is whether it is a good way to increase the timeout for large objects. | 15:06 |
Nicolas | I honestly don't know, on our side we will do some tests first to see how it behave | 15:20 |
