dougszwitek: are the tempest failures resolved now? I saw you found an issue with Elasticsearch shards not starting?10:41
witekI haven't seen any changes which would be fixing the problems10:56
witekperhaps there is less load on the CI infra10:56
witekor they did change something in infra10:57
dougszyeah - I wondered that, thanks11:01
witekthe failure rate since yesterday is still 33%11:04

witekhello everyone13:01
chaconpizaHi13:01
dougszhey all13:01
witekhi, nice to see you13:02
witeklight agenda for today:13:02
witekhttps://etherpad.openstack.org/p/monasca-team-meeting-agenda13:02
witek#topic InfluxDB proxy13:02
*** openstack changes topic to "InfluxDB proxy (Meeting topic: monasca)"13:02
witekin the recent email thread at openstack-discuss someone has pointed to influxdb-proxy tool13:03
witekhttps://github.com/shell909090/influx-proxy13:03
witekit extends the concept of InfluxDB relay13:03
dougszhmm, yes, I think I still prefer the Kafka consumer groups thing for HA13:04
witekand from reading the README, it provides both replication and sharding13:04
witekdougsz: agree, I wanted to point to the concepts implemented13:04
dougszOne less service and that project doesn't look particularly dependable13:05
dougszmakes sense, thanks witek13:05
witekyes, what I wanted to point is that they hold the keymap and redirect the messages and queries to the particular InfluxDB instance13:06
witekwe could implement it much nicer in monasca-api13:06
dougszSolid idea - a bit like a placement group in Ceph perhaps13:06
dougszIt would be nice to try TimescaleDB at the same time to see if it lives up to the hype13:08
witekI have added the repository URL to our Story:13:08
witekhttps://storyboard.openstack.org/#!/story/200562013:08
witekyes, we could try TimescaleDB as well13:09
witeksome more comments on this topic?13:10
dougszI guess it could also be used for mapping tenants to dedicated InfluxDB instances13:11
Dobroslawlooks like influx-proxy is using redis13:11
witekdougsz: yes, sharding on tenants would be the simplest logic13:12
witekDobroslaw: do we need it? I think we could store the keymap in mysql13:14
dougszyeah - that would make more sense13:15
Dobroslawjust pointing that influx-proxy would need 4th db in monasca13:15
Dobroslawgood idea with keymap in mysql13:15
witekbut I wasn't talking about using it, just showing the concept13:16
Dobroslawa, ok13:16
witek#topic Reviews13:17
*** openstack changes topic to "Reviews (Meeting topic: monasca)"13:17
witekno much progress here since last week13:17
witekI've updated the board:13:17
witekhttps://storyboard.openstack.org/#!/board/19013:17
witekwe've got two stories needing review13:18
witekand one needing help13:18
witekdevstack plugin for merged api has open comments13:19
witekapart from these there is also:13:19
witekhttps://review.opendev.org/67420413:19
witekwhich unlocks events-api repo13:19
witekany other reviews we should look at?13:21

DobroslawArseni have some problems with updating Kibana plugin13:23
witekshould we proceed without Kibana plugin first?13:23
arseni-lipinskihi13:24
arseni-lipinskiyou may proceed13:24
witekare all changes up-to-date now?13:24
arseni-lipinskiwithout the plugin they should be13:25
witekcould you point me to the story please?13:25
arseni-lipinskihttps://storyboard.openstack.org/#!/story/200637613:26
witekthanks, added to the Board13:27
witekon the logs tempest-job front there were less failures in the last days13:28
witekbut the problem is not gone13:28
witekhttp://zuul.openstack.org/builds?job_name=monascalog-python3-tempest13:29
witekwhat we could try is to disable deploying Kibana in CI13:29
arseni-lipinskiabout the plugin: the problem i'm working on now is that after creation of needed index-pattern kibana still won't see it until the page refresh. in old kibana page refresh could be achieved by replying with html, that contained page refresh command in <script>. unfortunately, new kibana throws an unexpected token error when trying to pass html to kibana. i'm out of ideas. something will maybe come up, but for now i don't see a way13:29
arseni-lipinskito do so.13:29
witekarseni-lipinski: that's sad13:30
arseni-lipinskii'll finalize the Elkstack update in log-api, remembered there was an issue with log-metrics, i'll fix it asap13:31
witekthanks13:32
witekany other topics for today?13:33
dougszNothing from me13:33
witeklet's try to make some progress on open reviews till next week13:34
witekand also try to solve the tempest job issue13:34
witekhttps://etherpad.openstack.org/p/monascalog-python3-tempest13:34
witekthanks for joining13:34
