danfaihey, we have octavia zed deployed. when cascade deleting an LB with l7policy/-rules, it does not correctly decrement the quota for those. Is this already a known bug? Sure we can circumvent for now by just setting unlimited l7* quota, but I guess this is not how it is supposed to be?08:01
tweiningdanfai: I can vaguely remember a bug about quota, but I'll need to check08:14
tweiningmaybe gthiemonge knows by heart08:14
danfaiah, I looked at the review page not on launchpad bugtracker, just found it there https://bugs.launchpad.net/octavia/+bug/201505008:16
tweiningyeah, seems like it08:17
gthiemongeo/08:18
gthiemongeyeah there are multiple issues with the quotas :/08:18
tweiningI tried to search on storyboard, but that is pointless ;)08:18
gthiemongeAFAIR there is an issue with the l7* quotas when cascade deleting, but only in case of errors during the deletion08:22
gthiemongedanfai: feel free to add a comment in case you have a different reproducer08:22
gthiemongeIMHO quotas on l7* objects don't make much sense, it's not like the user will consume more resources on the cloud08:24
danfaigthiemonge: thanks, will try to narrow it down even more and update the ticket. I can also help with providing a patch.08:26
danfaiWould it be helpful to have an additional patch for e.g. the health manager, to check that the in_use_* quota fields represent reality? While testing/developing local patches I noticed a little skew as well08:29
opendevreviewTom Weininger proposed openstack/octavia master: Add support for HTTP Strict Transport Security  https://review.opendev.org/c/openstack/octavia/+/88080608:42
gthiemongedanfai: yeah that could be a periodic task in the house keeping service, but I would rather fix the bugs first :D08:45

tweiningBobcat is gonna be a cleanup cycle it seems16:03
gthiemon1ethat's really good when you grep and you don't get results in the old code!16:03
gthiemon1eyeah and then we will have the migration to sqlalchemy216:04
gthiemon1eBTW we can start to review it ;-)16:04

gthiemon1ethere's a huge risk here16:08
gthiemon1eour devstack jobs are still on Ubuntu Focal (py38)16:08
gthiemon1esome projects have started to require py39 (tooz, neutron - but they reverted that change)16:08
gthiemon1eso it means that our jobs could be broken16:09
gthiemon1ewe need to upgrade to Jammy (py39) but the nested virt support is not stable16:09
tweiningyeah, I also saw an email from gmann to stop removing py38 support16:09
gthiemon1eI need to discuss with the nodepool provider to see what we can do there16:09
gthiemon1e(I tried to remove the nested-virt dependency, but the jobs timed out)16:10
tweiningwhich is not surprising16:10
gthiemon1e(it takes 9min to start an amphora instead of >1min)16:10
gthiemon1e#topic Brief progress reports / bugs needing review16:13
gthiemon1eI had some days off last week, nothing new from me here16:14
tweiningwell, as mentioned above, I am working on HTTP Strict Transport Security HSTS still16:14
tweiningIt is not ready for review really, except for the API and DB scheme16:15
