JohnnyW5Hi, just a question about adding something to haproxy config. As I deployed manually vault which is used as a backend plugin to barbican, I would like to have a three nodes with vault to use it as a HA and haproxy should make a loadbalancing there. However it doesn't work even when I manually configured vault.cfg in haproxy/services.d as stated in11:46
JohnnyW5upload config: https://paste.openstack.org/show/bU3ytwRvAopM78S7lg34/ Can I make it somehow "easy-way" or it's not possible to add it that way to haproxy config? It works i.e. with services configuration when I added some parameters in vendor-locking way, I'm wondering if I can make it similar for haproxy config. Can I make it somehow this way and11:46
JohnnyW5if yes - what is the correct scenario?11:46
opendevreviewWill Szumski proposed openstack/kolla master: Support CAP_DAC_READ_SEARCH capability  https://review.opendev.org/c/openstack/kolla/+/90557911:52
opendevreviewWill Szumski proposed openstack/kolla master: Support collecting libvirt qemu domain logs  https://review.opendev.org/c/openstack/kolla/+/90558011:52
bbezakJohnnyW5: for vault I think you should use its native cluster mechanism, and then you'd need to allow specific healthcheck reponse in haproxy - similar as here - https://stackhpc-kayobe-config.readthedocs.io/en/stackhpc-2023.1/configuration/vault.html#setup-haproxy-config-for-vault - it is for kayobe so additional jinja RAW statement is needed12:06

greatgatsbyis there any guidance for/against use the HWE (6.5) kernel on ubuntu with zed?  I've read there's good networking improvements and support for high core count CPUs.  Just wondering if there's anything in writing regarding this?14:21
opendevreviewMartin Hiner proposed openstack/kolla-ansible master: Add container engine migration scenario  https://review.opendev.org/c/openstack/kolla-ansible/+/83694114:25
SvenKieskegreatgatsby: in general I do recommend to use HWE kernels on ubuntu, don't use HWE edge though, those don't get security updates14:41
greatgatsbySvenKieske: that's great to know it should work fine.  Is there anything I can point my team to regarding this?  If I suggest it, I know I'll get push-back unless it's documented somewhere14:43
opendevreviewMerged openstack/kolla-ansible stable/2023.1: cadvisor: Set housekeeping interval to Prometheus scrape interval  https://review.opendev.org/c/openstack/kolla-ansible/+/90484314:49
SvenKieskegreatgatsby: well if it helps we will document this in our downstream (https://scs.community) https://github.com/osism/issues/issues/685 in general newer kernels have less known bugs ;)14:50
greatgatsbynice, thank you!14:50
