r3ap3rbersace: so after you put your network info for the External Net stuff in the runonce file and run it on a new deployment, you have to go into the default security group and allow all traffic, or desired traffic, before traffic will pass through.17:03
r3ap3rI personally just set the "alllow all TCP" traffic ingress and then did the same for egress as well as UDP and ICMP and that worked for me.17:05
yoctozeptohrw: same to you17:06
yoctozeptor3ap3r, bersace: security groups work at port level17:06
yoctozeptothat is the interface between your instance and the network17:06
bersaceICMP, TCP 22, 8000 and 8080 are already allowed17:07

yoctozeptoand that's it17:25
yoctozeptofor usefulness this interface is usually a bridge17:25
yoctozepto(well, like 100% of time)17:26
r3ap3rbersace: try this https://paste.debian.net/1127438/17:26
bersacer3ap3r thanks, and what about `ip route` ?17:26
admin0bersace, this is how you add vlan based .. https://www.openstackfaq.com/openstack-add-floating-ips/  ... all that you need is that the switch allows that tagged vlans on br-vlan and you have a gateway that responds to .117:27

yoctozeptoand folks, don't be harsh with yourselves, openstack is complex and requires relatively strong foundations in linux, networking and alike (and so it's also a great way to hone those skills ;-) )18:04
bersaceadmin0 thanks for this faq, i found a lot of great info on this site18:05
bersaceyoctozepto I'm a developer, not an admin sys :-) But actually, I play a lot with network on my station18:06
admin0a few days back i deleted my controllers and rebooted hypervisors .. this is to document recovery situations .. i like to write about those stuff18:07
bersaceI wasn't very far from the solution -:)18:07
admin0and another is migration from a broken openstack to a working openstack18:07
