rpittauJayF: where is metal3 integration failing? if you point me to a failure I can have a quick look today09:21
rpittauJayF: I saw the thread in metal3, it should be ok now13:22
-opendevstatus- NOTICE: Gerrit will undergo a short restart to pick up some bugfixes for the 3.10 release that we upgraded to.19:25
qwebirc55315Hi! I’m wondering if anyone knows if/where I can find ironic agent kernel and initramfs images for aarch64. I know there are some images available at https://tarballs.opendev.org/openstack/ironic-python-agent/dib/files/, but as far as I can tell these are all amd64.20:38
JayFoh, there are some prebuilt ones somewhere in the experimental area20:39
JayFlet me find it20:39
JayFI'll note you're always welcome to build your own modified ones using ironic-python-agent-builder20:40
qwebirc55315I did try using ironic-python-agent-builder, but didn't have any luck. Got a "disk-image-create exited with non-zero return code 127" and no other error message. I figured if there are prebuilt images available, I could save time on untangling that.20:42
JayFhttps://tarballs.opendev.org/openstack/ironic-python-agent-builder/dib/20:42
JayFwell, in production you might have a need to build your own20:42
JayFalso the only ARM images we publish are those unofficial master builds20:42
JayFthose images /are/ tested in our ARM jobs though, so you can have confidence they work20:43
qwebirc55315Thanks! This'll be good for a proof of concept, at any rate.20:44
cardoeprobably duh but raw images are gonna be faster than qcow2 no?21:57
JayF"faster" is a very bad word to use in that context21:58
JayFin what context do you mean?21:58
cardoedeploying to a machine21:58
JayFgenerally speaking; raw is better in that case because it streams21:58
JayFI suspect there may be situations where a qcow2 image could be less content going over a wire21:59
cardoeThat's what I originally thought cause of the zeros.22:01
JayFI'm fairly certain in most cases that we are gzipping it during transit22:02
JayFbut I'm not 100% sure, would have to observe behavior to be sure22:02
