opendevreviewAlex Welsh proposed openstack/bifrost master: Replace Cirros references with generic descriptors  https://review.opendev.org/c/openstack/bifrost/+/88394309:14

opendevreviewMahnoor Asghar proposed openstack/python-ironicclient master: Add support for node inventory  https://review.opendev.org/c/openstack/python-ironicclient/+/88383310:32
arne_wiebalckIn our Xena deployment, we see regular exceptions in the API triggered by users trying to list their nodes: the 'list all' is denied (triggering the exception), then falls back to 'owner' (which lists the nodes) ... is that the expected behavior? Maybe we have configured things in an unexpected way, as I would think only when listing is eventually denied we should see an exception ...11:39
iurygregorynever saw this issue .-.11:41
dkingDoes anybody know the time for the Ironic PTG at the OpenInfra Summit? It looks like it's in the combined ballroom?13:06
opendevreviewMerged openstack/ironic master: [iRMC] Fix IPMI incompatibility handling error  https://review.opendev.org/c/openstack/ironic/+/88310113:20
iurygregoryJayF, ^ 13:32
TheJuliaGood morning13:46
TheJuliaarne_wiebalck: that is expected, we likely need to suppress that a bit better I guess, it is just logging right?13:47
TheJuliaif a project scoped user is used, and permissions don't match list_all (i.e. bypass project scoped filtering)13:48
JayFdking: I've not scheduled anything specifically yet. I'll likely book a table in the big room, but will probably have more of a hackathon than a ptg, give him we're not going to have quorum at the summit or easy access to bring in remote folks.14:27
JayF**given we're 14:27
dkingJayF: Okay. Well, I'm planning to be there and would like to meet anybody in person who will be there. Right now, I'm planning out my schedule so I can figure out which talks I'll be able to attend. The PTG session seems to list all day and doesn't give specific times for the different groups.14:45
JayFThere is a schedule at ptg.opendev.org14:45
JayFBut if you'll notice ironic isn't on it. Given you're going to be there, why don't you give me an idea of what times will work for you and I can work that into my scheduling14:45
JayFTheJulia: iurygregory ^^^ same re ptg table scheduling14:46
iurygregoryack14:49
arne_wiebalckTheJulia: yes, this is mostly a message on our Ironic dashboard15:14
arne_wiebalckTheJulia: it all works :)15:14
JayFdking: TheJulia iurygregory (others who will be at openinfra), I created https://etherpad.opendev.org/p/ironic-openinfra-2023 for us to collab on any meetups15:19
iurygregorythanks JayF, I've added the Forum to it15:25
JayFGood stuff, thank you. I'm going to put more details on the Ironic talks now, if I cna find them lol15:26
JayFI don't love this interface, especially the lack of deep links.15:26
JayFHonestly really it's just the lack of deep links.15:26
iurygregoryhttps://vancouver2023.openinfra.dev/a/schedule15:26
iurygregoryI think I have most of them in my schedule15:26
iurygregory2 from stevebaker[m] 1 from TheJulia and there is one by Scott Solkhon15:27
iurygregoryalso saw one Scaling bare-metal network reconfiguration for a large-scale research infrastructure: a journey with Neutron and Networking-Generic-Switch (seems interesting)15:28
rpittaugood night! o/15:31
iurygregorygood night rpittau o/15:31
TheJuliaI guess I need to go make my schedule fo rhtat week15:33
TheJuliaarne_wiebalck: ahh, so just logging wise. :\15:34
* TheJulia wonders if we can make that less noisy15:34
arne_wiebalckTheJulia: not a priority obvsly :)15:36
JayFiurygregory: I think i got all of 'em in the list now15:37
arne_wiebalckgood night, Ironic o/15:37
JayF\o15:37
iurygregorygood night arne_wiebalck o/15:37
JayFDoes anyone have strong feelings about a meetup dinner during OpenInfra? 15:38
iurygregory+1 from me15:39
JayFany dietary or timing prefs?15:39
JayFactually going to put that question in the etherpad15:39
TheJuliagood plan15:44
TheJuliaI need to look at my schedule, becuase I have at least one evening already spoken for15:44
JayFYeah, part of why I want this nailed down is to frontrun the rest of my schedule :)15:44
JayFMany of the downstream folks from the UK I've never met are going to be in town15:45
TheJuliaDeploying and managing baremetal Kubernetes with Ironic on Thursday @ 11AM seems interesting15:46
JayFthat is Scott15:46
JayFfrom G-Research in the UK15:46
JayFit will be a very good talk, basically a fully-fleshed out version of the talk they did at BM SIG last year-ish15:46
TheJuliaThursday looks best for PTG/Hacking/Deep Ironic discussion of doom15:50
TheJuliaCatching Consistent Redfish in the Deep Blue Data Center <-- Thursday end of day15:54
JayFProposed time: 6/15 1220-171015:54
TheJuliaJayF: Looks like Tuesday is the day which is largely consumed15:54
JayFbasically after scott's talk until the IBM talk15:54
JayFTuesday is not open for PTG15:54
TheJuliaerr, my tuesday15:54
JayFWeds/Thurs are the only options15:54
TheJuliaso Wednesday/Thursday evening work15:55
JayFwdyt about my specifically proposed time ^ 15:55
TheJuliaAnyone going to the StarlingX thing on Wednesday15:55
JayFThurs noonish-5ish15:55
TheJuliafor ptg, double checking15:55
TheJuliait clashes with Steve's talk15:56
JayFSteve's is Weds?15:56
JayFunless there's one I missed in the schedule15:56
JayFI'm working off the smaller list I made in the etherpad15:56
JayFI did miss one15:57
TheJuliaThursday15:57
TheJuliaoh, hmm15:57
TheJuliaMy wedesday is insane15:57
TheJulialet me get my calendar sorted and go from there15:58
JayFI'm thinking we can put a couple of sessions for thurs15:58
JayFmorning/afternoon around the talks15:58
JayFor just book a block on Thursday and have it come and go 15:58
JayFbut I think that removes a lot of the value of it15:58
JayF(b/c the value is people being there lol)15:58
TheJuliaI think thursday is best since that only has a couple sessions for me16:05
JayFI also have intentions to make zero concrete plans for what to do at the PTG16:05
TheJuliaSteve's second talk is on Thursday16:05
JayFwe don't have enough folks to justify having a "real" PTG16:05
JayFso it's just going to be "lots of smart ironic people at the table working through stuff"16:05
JayFwhich sounds really refreshing16:06
TheJulia++16:06
JayFTheJulia: did you see this? https://etherpad.opendev.org/p/ironic-openinfra-202316:06

opendevreviewMerged openstack/bifrost master: remove unused variables  https://review.opendev.org/c/openstack/bifrost/+/87451816:31
JayFI'm going to work to aggressively fix these: https://etherpad.opendev.org/p/ironic-zuul-config-errors-2023 16:32
JayFwe are almost down to 0, actual-0 would be nice16:32
dtantsurironic-python-agent-buildimage-coreos WUT16:35
JayFI'm not the one who wanted to keep train going16:35
JayFthat one is not on me lol16:35

opendevreviewJay Faulkner proposed openstack/ironic-lib stable/train: Remove now-dead CoreOS job  https://review.opendev.org/c/openstack/ironic-lib/+/88472216:39
* JayF waits for the CI to go boom16:39
JayF>     bugfix/18.1 (xena) (should be supported until June 2023)16:40
JayFwe have a handful of these bugfix branches coming up on that deadline16:40
JayFif anyone can give clarity on a more specific date these go out of use downstream it'd be a useful input to fixing some of this CI (because we can retire those bf branches)16:41
JayFAlso, do you all use the bugfix branches on IPE? I see branches for those, but they never got documented in the whiteboard16:41
* JayF brb16:43
TheJuliafor ipe, I don't believe so16:43
TheJuliaiurygregory might be more aware16:43
iurygregoryfor IPE we don't use16:49
JayFack; I will retire any/all bugfix branches for IPE17:15
JayFiurygregory: what about the bugfix/{} releases that are listed as supported until tomorrow ;) 17:16
JayFer, day after tomorrow :P17:16
iurygregoryJayF, re bugfix I can check latter today17:31
iurygregoryI'm going to the physiotherapy in a few minutes17:31
iurygregoryI finally have my eTA \o/17:32
JayFtake care of yourself friend :D17:40
iurygregoryyeah, my working hours are a bit strange this days :D17:41
JayFmy working hours have been hijacked by illness and holiday :)17:42
JayFI should be able to work a whole day today but I'm still fighting it17:42
JayFI had several months of physical therapy (a couple of different times) on my bad knees. It's important but very disruptive :|17:43
iurygregorygood luck 17:44
JayFI'm over the hump, it's just a matter of time. I'm a wimp when it comes to sickness though :P 17:46
opendevreviewEbbex proposed openstack/bifrost master: Fix key-order[task] linter warnings  https://review.opendev.org/c/openstack/bifrost/+/87485418:01
TheJuliahttps://review.opendev.org/c/openstack/ironic/+/883580 could use some quick reviewing :)18:12
TheJuliay'all will love this, wallaby is broken on tempest... because we test with our plugin on master, but the version of tempest which gets pulled in is tooooooo old18:22
opendevreviewJulia Kreger proposed openstack/ironic stable/wallaby: Fix Cinder Integration fallout from CVE-2023-2088  https://review.opendev.org/c/openstack/ironic/+/88358118:27
TheJuliaThat should now disable the auto-rescue testing on that branch, since the other other thing to do is to start leveraging branch overrides, but we're in low risk territory regardless18:31
JayFNobodyCam: I'm watching LTT show off your NVIDIA nics :)18:35
NobodyCamheheheheh18:36
NobodyCamthey do look nice!18:36
JayFbtw; when do you all ship out those 256 GPU machines to Ironic devs so we can start working on automation for them18:37
JayFI can get you a shipping address ;)18:37
NobodyCamhehehehe18:37
NobodyCamI wish18:37
TheJuliaheh18:37
TheJuliadeja vu18:38
JayFyou know what, you're right, that is too much to ask. I'll just ask for one GPU to be more reasonable ;) 18:38
TheJuliaat some point, we'll need 3 phase power for them.18:40
JayFoh, I saw the most absolutely cursed device in a yt video recently18:41
JayFthey combined 110 from different circuits into a single machine which put out 3 phase 22018:41
JayFthey had to find two 110 circuits in the same building on different phases18:41
TheJuliaThat sounds exceptionally cursed18:43
TheJuliaand in the autoformer territory which is not exactly permitted under code in the US18:43
