dtantsuryep, absolutely10:31
dmelladojust heard also that they dropped mandatory masks in the conference10:32
dmelladoand I'm not really happy about hearing that...10:32
dmelladonot sure about the Open Infra Summit10:32
dtantsurI think they're keeping the masks10:34
dtantsur(I'll probably wear one anyway)10:34
dmelladoI'll also do, but I would feel safer if everyone does as well... so not really excited about the change in the KubeCon10:35
dtantsuryep :( if nobody wears one, it's kinda of pointless for you10:42

iurygregorystendulker, hey regarding the bz for event subscriptions I've mentioned, I've double checked with the people using, the subscription was working and sending information till the machine was rebooted12:22
dtantsurfolks, could I get some reviews on https://review.opendev.org/c/openstack/sushy-tools/+/830157 and https://review.opendev.org/c/openstack/sushy-tools/+/830598/ please?12:44

mallikTheJulia, hi14:58
mallikI tried anaconda based provisioning with rhel8.5, it failed.14:59
mallikalso tried with rhel8.2 it failed too14:59
mallikany idea what version of rhel8 has been tested with anaconda deploy15:00
mallikTheJulia, ^^^15:01
TheJuliacould you define what you mean by failed15:14
TheJuliawhat exactly occured15:14
TheJuliamallik: ^^^15:17
mallikTheJulia, with rhel8.5,  I see  in /tmp/anaconda.log "dasbus.error.DBusError: [Errno 2] No such file or directory: 'efibootmgr': 'efibootmgr'"15:24
mallikTheJulia, with rhel8.2, I see "ValueError: Error enabling service chronyd: 1"15:26
TheJuliamallik: sounds like your input to the deployment, more than anything else. rloo when she is around might have insight. cbouchar may also have insight. Ultimately the driver was submitted from upstream and does have some.... edges to be smoothed out, but folks have reported success, albeit with a learning curve. :(15:28
mallikTheJulia: ok15:28
cboucharJust learning at the moment and took the easy approach and applied RHEL7 at this time.  Was trying to do RHEL8 on aarch but ran into other issues.  Waiting for equipment replacement to get pass the other issues.15:30
mallikcbouchar: did RHEL7 work for you with anaconda?15:35
cboucharyes15:35
cboucharI'm using an expanded iso file.15:36
cboucharNot sure this will be a longterm approach though15:36
mallikcbouchar, what is expanded iso file? we followed upstream documentation, is it apart from that?15:40
mallikcbouchar, any additional steps to be followed for RHEL7 using anaconda deploy interface?15:41
rpittaubye everyone, have a great weekend! o/15:43
arne_wiebalckbye everyone o/15:45
mallikTheJulia, I am using the default kick start file template as per documentation and have not modified any inputs in that file15:45
TheJulialikely the base image or stage2's contents, I guess15:45
cboucharno. I copied down the iso file, 'sudo mount -o loop <file.iso> <mnt-point>, then referenced the mount point in my instance-info along with other documented instance-info fields.  Also needed TheJulia fix 834709 and had to upgrade to yugo to get a clean patch.  kickstart included url instead of liveimg.15:46
cboucharsorry mouse is broken.  This is where I referenced it in instance-info     --instance-info image_source=http://ip:port/DVD_MNT_RHEL7/15:48
mallikcbouchar, thanks for the information. let me see if it works for me.15:58

opendevreviewJulia Kreger proposed openstack/ironic master: DNM: v6/grenade multinode jobs  https://review.opendev.org/c/openstack/ironic/+/83908616:58
cboucharmallik, the reason I expanded an iso is our network is setup for local testing only.17:14
TheJuliaiurygregory: left a comment on https://review.opendev.org/c/openstack/ironic/+/836966. I agree with dmitry, but at the same time I'm wondering if the multinode job might be a good victim for the testing, that is if it proves stable and that does put us into the mixed operating state testing which *really* is going to be needed18:03
TheJuliaJust a thought anyhow18:03
TheJulialooks like v6 is going to require reproduction on a v6 devstack18:14
TheJuliaand.... well....  an upgrade to ubuntu 22.10 is underway18:14

TheJuliaarne_wiebalck: ^^I'm wondering if post burnin/stress stuff, we should throttle back down. Since you wrote all of that, insight/thoughts would be appreciated.19:05
