dtantsuramarao, I'd not call it security issue, though it does confuse quotas, I guess. Also, please change affected project to "nova" and set "ironic" tag, we track the virt driver issues this way.12:55
* dtantsur wonders how instance deletion even works, when nova-compute is down12:55
dtantsurjroll, ^^?12:55
amaraoI checking this right now with nova-compute/kvm.12:56
sambettsdtantsur: I would expect nova assumes if the nova-compute has gone away that the whole hypervisor has blown up so therefore the VM is dead anyway :/12:57
dtantsursambetts, good point...12:57

jroller, no, doesn't make sense "after n-cpu is up"13:15

amaraodtantsur, this is problem even we got one nova-compute per installation. In real life nova-compute may be down for short time due maintanance, and still get into time window when tenant delete instance. Even if this is documented, it's incorrect. Nova should never allow running stray tenant instances. Just Imagen we (hosters) got abuse report for server and deleted it because it doing DoS attack on someone. rloojroll: sorry, i thought you wanted the status etc for everything.16:40

jrollrloo: I do16:41
*** sacharya_ has quit IRC16:41
JayFthe usefulness of having a spec is more about being able to read it and have shared context before a discussion16:41
* jroll is probably confusing people now16:41
* dtantsur is confused already by what people want16:41
rloojroll: so if i understand, because deploy steps is more than 'just status, etc', but requires discussion, we should remove it from ongoing work?16:41

jrollrloo: right. the difference there is we were forced to schedule time blocks for topics in barcelona16:44

JayFso I don't know where it is -- if my (+ mariojv's) design is good, it's pretty close to being done as a spec16:48

rloodtantsur: yes and no. it is for the ones where people want specs reviewed -- if you just look at this list, it is not apparent how/if folks should prepare for each item.16:52
rlooJayF: if folks are interested in cross-project places :)16:52
dtantsurrloo, we can review specs without traveling to another continent..16:52
rloofwiw, i'm arriving Tues cuz I decided that it was not going to be too productive for me to attend most of the xproject sessions.16:53
dtantsurideally, the PTG should be for things that cannot be efficiently done asynchronously16:53

dtantsurwell, and he we arrive to the same point. in the etherpad we have a list of things that might potentially have contentions/blockers16:54

rloojlvillal: thx20:56
rlooTheJulia: i'm not sure what to think about the irmc merge failure. i guess we can wait and see if it happens again?20:57

jlvillalTheJulia: It worked fine for OpenStack gate as far as merge.21:04
jlvillalTheJulia: I have very little trust on the 3rd Party CI for the most part.21:04
TheJuliabut merging it means we've bricked irmc ci until someone goes and fixes downstream branch... if that is why21:05
