outbritoHi there folks! I'm seeing that several reviews on LOCI are failing Zuul with the same problem of a missing nss-devel-3.53.1 rpm15:25
outbritofor instance: https://zuul.opendev.org/t/openstack/build/2567d0bf52e84841a3a23d01a0a4e781/console15:25
*** dviroel|rover is now known as dviroel15:26
outbritoI'm wondering how our centos rpm mirror is populated since I see this package on centos.pkgs.org15:26
outbritohttps://centos.pkgs.org/8-stream/centos-appstream-x86_64/nss-3.53.1-17.el8_3.x86_64.rpm.html15:26
fungioutbrito: any idea when the failures started?15:27
outbritoFrom the history, I see that it started failing after https://opendev.org/openstack/loci/commit/a61c73e9b224286a10cf927de7c58f0ac65db69a which pinned nss-devel to this version15:28
fungiwe mirror from rsync://mirror.dal10.us.leaseweb.net/centos/8-stream/15:28
fungithough that can be changed if their mirror has gone stale15:29
fungihttps://opendev.org/opendev/system-config/src/branch/master/playbooks/roles/mirror-update/files/centos-mirror-update#L4215:30
fungithat's where it would need to be switched to something else15:30
outbritoThat's exactly what I was looking for, tks. brb15:31

outbritofungi, weirdly enough, the source for our mirror has that package and we don't16:27
outbrito¯\_(ツ)_/¯16:28
outbritohttps://mirror.dal10.us.leaseweb.net/centos/8-stream/AppStream/x86_64/os/Packages/nss-devel-3.53.1-17.el8_3.i686.rpm16:29
outbritoI think I know what is going on...16:31
outbritoThe package is on the centos 8-stream folder, not on the centos 8 folder16:31
*** ysandeep is now known as ysandeep|out16:46
fungiloci is trying to use centos 8 not centos stream 8?16:49
fungikeep in mind that centos 8 is no longer maintained16:49
outbritoYeah... I'm wondering now if just changing the source would be ok to make zuul happy16:57
outbritoWill try16:57
*** rlandy|ruck is now known as rlandy|ruck|lunch16:58
fungiis the problem that epel treats/treated epel the same for centos 8 and centos stream 8 and has updated packages in it in ways which no longer work with the now eol centos 8?17:04
outbritonot sure, but probably... The weird thing is, we have a newer version of this package on centos/8/ folder, centos/8-stream have 3 or 4 versions of that package17:06
fungiahh, yeah that's weird17:07
