trondhamHi, I'm looking for a way to blacklist all (or most) top-level domains, obviously we don't want users to claim all of *.com etc. for themselves. Is there a regexp trick for achieving that?09:01

mugsietrondham: you see the tld list11:27
mugsielet me grab docs11:27
mugsiehttps://docs.openstack.org/designate/latest/admin/tlds.html & https://docs.openstack.org/python-designateclient/latest/user/shell-v2.html#working-with-top-level-domains11:28
mugsiethere is also a designate manage command "designate-manage tlds import --input_file <file>"  that can do bulk imports11:32
mugsiethere is a copy of the public suffix list here https://github.com/openstack/designate/blob/master/contrib/public_suffix_list.dat that can be used with that command11:32

trondhammugsie: hm.. isn't the tld stuff only for whitelisting which tlds in which the users can create zones? So if I add a tld "com" then users can only create domains "<whatever>.com.". But does the tld entry prevent users from creating the domain "com."?12:59
mugsietrondham: yes, it also blocks people from creating the tlds13:02
trondhammugsie: cool, then managing this through tlds may be the best approach. How do people mostly solve this in production? Blacklisting or tlds?13:04
mugsieusually tlds13:04
