JayFI noticed DIB isn't running tests against python 3.10 yet; is there a specific reason other than "nobody to do the work"? 19:55
JayFIf the need is just for someone to wire things up and fix any failing tests, I volunteer :) 19:55
JayFand would probably try to push to get tests running all the way up to 3.11, but one step at a time :)19:55
clarkbJayF: the biggest thing has been platform to run them on. Jammy is relatively new and doesn't have a wheel mirror built for it. But it is doable now19:58
JayFGoing to be honest, I'm not sure what you exactly mean by that, but I'm happy to dig in19:59
JayFstarting a new job today where I'll have some amount of time to spend on openstack; probably 10%-20% of my job, and I am going to attempt to focus that attention on CI/python versions/other hidden stuff ... starting at ironic and working the way out (and ironic needs DIB, and DIB only being on 3.9 is pretty far back)20:00
clarkbmostly that you need somewhere to run python3.10 and until like a week or two ago the only place for that was fedora 35 which is generally (in my opinion) a bad platform to run tests on that are expected to live for more than a few months20:01
clarkbnow that jammy is available you have somewhere to run those tests for 5 years20:01
JayFoh, jammy is the new ubuntu versaion20:01
clarkbbut we've been busy spinning it up and adding supporting bits like the wheel mirror which isn't quite there yet20:02
JayFhonestly, given the scope of my work is ... loose, if there are rabbitholes like that, I'm in a good position to help fix them too20:02
JayFassuming all my openstack knowledge isn't too dusty :D 20:02
clarkbat this point probably adding the job and seeing if it breaks/fixing anything that breaks is a good next step20:03
JayFthat was going to be my first step20:04
JayFI noticed this was at py 3.9 because it's in danger of not being packaged for gentoo anymore; so I'll get our py3.10 support working here then go bump the gentoo package too P 20:04
