rm_workianw: Debian wants to publish images based only on their new image tool. Our amphora images would be acceptable too if we simply base them on the official Debian published cloud images. Since we don't, they're considered nonstandard.07:22
rm_workWe want to be able to build them for Debian the same way we do for cent/rhel -- load a base image and apply binary package installs07:23
rm_workThis avoids a huge argument about Debian publishing policy07:23

rm_workianw: how difficult do you think it would actually be to do a new element for this? I was thinking just copy the centos7 element and replace all the URLs and such, and a little of the tooling needs translation, but it might be pretty straightforward?07:25
ianwrm_work: it's probably better to start with the ubuntu element ...07:29
rm_workAh right, derp07:29
rm_workIt works using images as well doesn't it...07:29
ianwbut yeah i'm not sure what the policy would be.  i mean we replace the bootloader and stuff ... i'm not sure if it would be considered "based on"07:29
rm_workMuch easier I'd assume, yes :P07:29
rm_workHmm, do we need to? If the images are already cloudinit based and FOR Openstack...07:30
rm_workI assume we could skip that step07:30
ianwprobably ... if you don't run the "vm" element maybe07:31

andreinhello everyone: I've built my own image based on the centos7 image, however, after my server boots from it the network service is reporting as failed (although everything works correctly). this happens because /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth0 exists, but my interfaces are actually named eno1-4. is there any way to convince dib to remove the file?13:53
andreinI've also tried to build from centos-minimal, but I'm missing something in the image because networking isn't set up at all on centos-minimal13:54
