opendevreviewAtsushi Kawai proposed openstack/cinder master: Hitachi: Volume Replication for VSP Driver  https://review.opendev.org/c/openstack/cinder/+/86999111:30
gansorosmaita, whoami-rajat:  hi! could you please take a look at the backport when you have a minute? thanks in advance! https://review.opendev.org/c/openstack/cinder/+/87258114:19

andrewbogott_I could use a tiny bit of operations support with my multi-backend attempts here. I know this is a dev channel though, is it OK if I ask?  (Right now nova-compute is trying to contact iscsi on a cinder-volume node that only supports rbd, seems suspicious.)15:23

opendevreviewGorka Eguileor proposed openstack/cinder master: Improve resource listing efficiency  https://review.opendev.org/c/openstack/cinder/+/81966918:18
spatelFolks, any idea how to get rid of this - https://paste.opendev.org/show/bKesxMWcoSA0qqZdral0/19:52
spatelAfter i removed _DEFAULT_ volume type group this is what happened. are there any way to wipe it out ? 19:53
jungleboyjUgh.  I remember some discussion about it being possible that we would get into that situation with the _DEFAULT_ volume type.  I don't remember the details though.  @rosmaita  Do you remember?19:55
spatelI have made ceph-ssd as a default type in cinder.conf - default_volume_type = ceph-ssd19:57
spatelAfter that i delete _DEFULT_ 19:58
rosmaitaspatel: is there anything in the logs when you try to delete those volumes?19:58
jungleboyjGood question.  :-)19:58
rosmaitaand spatel also what release are you using?19:58
spatelZed 19:58
rosmaitaok19:59
spatelVolume create and delete works fine at present. I believe these volume stuck in deleting created in _DEFAULT_ type and may be now it doesn't have any link left so get stuck20:00
spatelLet me dig into log and see20:00
jungleboyjI am guessing that is the case.  If that is the case I think you could then use the cinder-manage volume delete command to clean up and move on.  Though, you should also make sure that the volume is also deleted on the backing storage.20:02
rosmaitaspatel: that's possible, though you shouldn't be able to delete a volume type until all the volumes of that type have been deleted20:03
spatelhttps://paste.opendev.org/show/bSDw907NNPBr4pTwoW8k/20:03
spatelSeems like i had backup volume of them and may be that is why they are stuck.. but i have noticed all backup volumes are delete 20:04
spateldeleted*20:04
spatellet me try  cinder-manage volume delete 20:05
spatelrosmaita i did  cinder-manage volume delete fca9afc9-75fa-4ced-a732-1fb9af3b979e20:07
spatelno luck 20:07
rosmaitadid it give you any kind of message?20:07
spatelno error when i run command 20:08
spatelblank output20:08
spatelcinder-manage volume delete command should clean up entries from DB so very curious why still its showing up20:11
spatelseems like entry stuck in DB somewhere 20:17
opendevreviewEric Harney proposed openstack/cinder master: RBD: Flattening of child volumes during deletion  https://review.opendev.org/c/openstack/cinder/+/83538420:21
spatelrosmaita finally i endup doing this  -> MariaDB [cinder]> update volumes set deleted=1,status='deleted',deleted_at=now(),updated_at=now() where deleted=0 and id='f97c88a4-87f0-4e5e-8969-eafec2e4d4db';20:39
spatelhope it won't create any issue 20:39
opendevreviewEric Harney proposed openstack/os-brick master: linuxrbd: Remove rados_connect_timeout parameter  https://review.opendev.org/c/openstack/os-brick/+/87253620:59
rosmaitaspatel: only issue would be if the volumes aren't deleted on the backend storage ... shouldn't affect anything for cinder, but they'll be taking up space on the backend21:10
spateli did clean up volume data in ceph21:10
spatelThis is new volume so easy to clean up 21:10
