ChristopheL | Hi everyone, I’m running OpenStack-Ansible AIO 30.0.2 on Ubuntu 24.04 and facing a recurring issue: some VMs randomly become unreachable via their floating IP (172.x.x.x), even though they remain accessible from other VMs via private IP (10.x.x.x). Only way to fix is to reassign a new floating IP. Has anyone seen this? Happy to share details. | 10:29 |

jrosser | ChristopheL: from where are they inaccessible? From the AIO host? | 10:48 |

ChristopheL | Thanks. Just to clarify: when the issue occurs, the VM is still fully operational. I can SSH into it from another VM on the same tenant network using its internal 10.x.x.x IP, so the network inside the tenant works fine. | 12:22 |
ChristopheL | However, from the AIO host, I cannot reach the VM using its floating IP (172.x.x.x) anymore, even though everything used to work before. Security groups are correctly set. | 12:22 |
ChristopheL | Detaching and reattaching the same floating IP does not help. The only workaround that works is to allocate a new floating IP and assign it to the VM – then it becomes accessible again immediately. Happens randomly to different VMs. | 12:22 |

jrosser | ChristopheL: have you tried some basic things like looking at what is happening with arp requests / responses for that floating IP? | 13:26 |
