dokeeffe85Morning, jrosser, that issue with the 200GB snapshot was caused by the keystone fernet token expiring after an hour, we increased the time and the snap completed successfully. Just wanted to let you know in case anyone sees the same 08:49
jrosserdokeeffe85: ahha interesting08:50
jrossernoonedeadpunk: ^ is this related to needing service tokens?08:50

nixbuilderI am having problems getting the centralized rsyslog server working as expected.  I have the server defined in my config file under "log_hosts"... but I think I missing the rsyslog_all group and cannot find any examples of how/where to define that.  Any help would be appreciated.13:56
jrossernixbuilder: there is little use for rsyslog these days, everything is done with systemd journals14:10
jrossernixbuilder: the whole concept of those log_hosts will be removed in the Zed release https://review.opendev.org/c/openstack/openstack-ansible/+/86188614:11
nixbuilderjrosser: Thanks... so are you guys working on configuring a central journald server in the Zed release?14:21
jrossernixbuilder: the reality is that most people already have something, greylog, elasticsearch, whatever else14:22
jrosserthere is a reasonbly complete (but best efforts) ELK stack deployment here https://github.com/openstack/openstack-ansible-ops/tree/master/elk_metrics_7x14:23
jrosserbut really thats considered something separate, kind of like ceph cluster vs openstack deployment14:23
nixbuilderjrosser: Thanks!14:24
jrosserthe ops repo is not supported or maintained the same way as the OSA repo, it's example code to be taken as a starting point14:26
damiandabrowskiPS. we've been using infra-journal-remote.yml for a while and it was working fine14:27
jrossernixbuilder: check out the release note for this ^^^ https://opendev.org/openstack/openstack-ansible/src/branch/master/releasenotes/notes/systemd-journal-remote-25248628390b46d9.yaml14:28

noonedeadpunkjrosser: yep, it must be related to service tokens15:59
noonedeadpunkNot relevant I believe now :D15:59
noonedeadpunksorry, whole day on workshops on site, so got laptop off16:00
admin1is it possible to give dedicated nodes to ovs for just packet-processing ( non dpdk ) to improve performance ( gaming ) 16:14
prometheanfirenoonedeadpunk: I suppose it's worth asking now as well, is cent/rocky considered supported at the same level as ubuntu?16:34
noonedeadpunkwell, we don't test ceph in CI but I'd say yes.16:40
noonedeadpunkthough we don't have a lot of active maintainers for el16:40

prometheanfirethat and general CI being ubuntu has always kept me back, most other infra is RH based16:49
