damiandabrowskihi!08:40
noonedeadpunkSo we had gate broken due to EPEL repo issue08:48
fricklernoonedeadpunk: had? is it working for you now? kolla is still broken08:51
noonedeadpunkI haven't checked :D09:03
noonedeadpunkSo maybe it still is09:04
noonedeadpunkI failed to find time yestarday :(09:04

derekokeeffe85Hi again, starting to look at cinder now and had a quick question. We have no external backend so we're looking at using the storage on the 3 boxes in the cluster. Is that possible to do before we start reading/looking into it?11:52
noonedeadpunkeverything is possible ™11:55
derekokeeffe85noonedeadpunk haha :)11:56
derekokeeffe85To you guys I'm sure that's right11:56
noonedeadpunkyou can even have hyperconverged ceph out of these 3 boxes11:56
noonedeadpunkgiven enough ram11:56
noonedeadpunkor go with jsut local storage11:57
noonedeadpunkor skip cinder and do just ephemerals11:57
derekokeeffe85Wouldn't even know where to start with hyperconverged ceph to be honest. We plan to eventually point it at an external storage cluster so would you recommend getting to grips with cinder now in preparation?11:58
noonedeadpunkI don't like hyperconverged tbh12:03
noonedeadpunkas external cluster always sounds better to me12:03
noonedeadpunkBut I would totally suggest figuring out architecture and user stories you want to cover first12:04
noonedeadpunkand basically requirements12:04
derekokeeffe85Ok will do that, thanks as always. Lastly before I go (for now) can I just edit the openstack_user_config.yml and run the cinder playbook to apply the changes I do (eventually)12:05
noonedeadpunkdepending on what edit you're talking about:)12:08
noonedeadpunkif you want to add cinder - you can do that anytime12:09
noonedeadpunkIf you want to remove it or move somewhere - it's possible but adjusting openstack_user_config is not enough and some extra steps will be needed12:09
derekokeeffe85Ah ok, thank you. It won't be my last time on here :)12:10

nixbuilderI have asked this on the openstack-horizon group... thought I would ask here as well.  Does anyone know how to enable the "Identity/Domains" panel in horizon for the default 'admin' account?16:15

BobZ_AnnapolisSorry if i'm late to the game but is it a known issue that the openstack-ansible yoga all-in-one quickstart page is no longer working on Ubuntu 18 ?? Can't even run the 1st bootstrap-ansible script, getting ERROR: Could not find a version that satisfies the requirement ansible-core==2.12.6 error messages on a brand new machine and run thru the instructions.16:57
mgariepyhmm :/ only 2 or 3 options. https://paste.openstack.org/show/bLv0KAnA9nwX4h7FbpGd/17:20
noonedeadpunkBobZ_Annapolis: Yes, Yoga does not support Ubuntu 18.0417:43
noonedeadpunkBobZ_Annapolis: you can check supported OS on https://docs.openstack.org/openstack-ansible/latest/admin/upgrades/compatibility-matrix.html17:44
BobZ_Annapolisha ha ha. . .my bad. . . .THANK YOU !!! i've been bouncing around between versions and OS's, stood up the wrong machine. . . .whew.....17:51
BobZ_Annapoliswas trying to get a Rocky version AIO up & running (please don't ask me why) :-) . . .thanks again. . .all is good in the world again17:56
ElDuderinothat's a good link - thanks! I needed that chart, also.18:02
noonedeadpunkBobZ_Annapolis: well, I think Rocky AIO should work nicely since Yoga...19:29
noonedeadpunkBut not 18.04....19:29
BobZ_Annapolisit used to when i 1st started playing with a few months back. . . .now the installation breaks when it's trying to install RabbitMQ - the rabbitmq & erlang urls/repos referenced in the rabbitmq_server/vars file no longer point to existing target locations :-(19:33
*** dviroel is now known as dviroel|afk19:39
jrosser_BobZ_Annapolis: you might need to be clear if you mean Rocky Linux the operating system or Rocky the Openstack release - i think there might be some confusion....19:43
jrosser_BobZ_Annapolis: regarding rabbitmq repos, they are now hosted at either PackageCloud or Cloudsmith (see https://www.rabbitmq.com/install-debian.html). Certainly for Cloudsmith, it seems that releases we reference there are removed sometimes without explanation which is not great for an official release repo 19:49
BobZ_Annapolissorry, openstack Rocky. .  .yes the 2018 version :-(. . . 20:01
jrosser_BobZ_Annapolis: there are patches going back to Stein branch for fixing up rabbitmq repos, see https://review.opendev.org/q/project:openstack%252Fopenstack-ansible-rabbitmq_server20:15
jrosser_you might be able to adapt one of those if you need to20:15
jrosser_and if suitable versions are on Cloudsmith20:15
BobZ_Annapolisam trying my darnedest to convince the powers that be that we need to migrate to a (much) newer version. . . but until that happens. . . .much appreciated !!!20:17
BobZ_Annapolisnothing too drastic ya know. .  .at least to something this decade :-) baby steps20:21

ElDuderinoI assume that this is still canonical/good to use for upper constraints for Rocky? https://opendev.org/openstack/requirements/raw/branch/stable/rocky/upper-constraints.txt21:25
jrosser_ElDuderino: in theory yes, though really from openstack-ansible perspective Rocky is sufficiently old that there is no effort going into maintaining that branch now21:46

opendevreviewDanila Balagansky proposed openstack/openstack-ansible-os_neutron master: Disable/stop/mask Open vSwitch on ovn-northd nodes  https://review.opendev.org/c/openstack/openstack-ansible-os_neutron/+/85582922:10
anskiyit turned out, that current state is a bit uglier that we thought, because this thing exists, too: https://opendev.org/openstack/openstack-ansible-os_neutron/src/commit/37b11c5b118504732da43ddbe0844fd112955f7f/tasks/neutron_install.yml#L106-L111 :)22:12
