ThiagoCMCHey folks! I'm trying to deploy OSA 25.0.0 AIO with Ceph, but the TASK "ceph-osd : use ceph-volume to create bluestore osds" is failing, error: "stderr: lsblk: vg-loop12/lv-loop12: not a block device"10:30
ThiagoCMCI'm following: "openstack-ansible/yoga/user/aio/quickstart.html"10:31
ThiagoCMCAlso: SCENARIO='aio_lxc_barbican_ceph'10:32
ThiagoCMCAny tips?  :-D10:32

*** frenzyfriday|no_longer_rover is now known as frenzyfriday10:33
ThiagoCMCI see that this is defined in `root@aio1:~# file /etc/openstack_deploy/user_ceph_aio.yml` but, isn't it supposed to "prepare disks" in earlier tasks?10:40
ThiagoCMCAnother error on Utility container (setup-openstack.yml): "ERROR: Cannot install rally-openstack==2.1.0 and rally-openstack==2.2.0 because these package versions have conflicting dependencies." - It was working about 10 days ago (same OSA-25.0.0)10:41
*** dviroel|out is now known as dviroel11:14
jrosser_ThiagoCMC: which OS do you use?11:42
ThiagoCMCUbuntu 20.04... I rebooted the machine after bootstrap-aio.sh, The loopback volumes don't come back automatically, right?11:49
ThiagoCMCI'll try again without reboot11:49
ThiagoCMCAnd also time for Ubuntu 22.04 already! lol11:49
ThiagoCMCAnd error with "rally-openstack==2.1.0" happens in both Ubuntu 20.04 and Rocky 8, very same error.11:52
jrosser_ThiagoCMC: note that 22.04 support is "experimental" for Yoga https://docs.openstack.org/openstack-ansible/latest/admin/upgrades/compatibility-matrix.html11:55
jrosser_there have been a whole bunch of patches merged for rally fixes lately, i expect you have not picked them up with the 25.0.0 tag11:56
*** dviroel is now known as dviroel|lunch15:26
ThiagoCMCjrosser_, which branch/tag do you recommend (for Yoga)?15:36
jrosser_stable/yoga is always the branch for yoga15:37
jrosser_tags are just designated points on that branch15:37
jrosser_like I say some fixes exist on stable/yoga for the rally issues15:38
jrosser_there is nothing magical about the tags, they just represent points at which we pull in updated versions of the openstack services, nova/neutron/etc15:42
jrosser_if it happens that a few patches in openstack-ansible exist after a particular tag, and that fixes something specific like rally before we have made another tagged release, it's completely fine to use that15:43
ThiagoCMCGot it, thanks!15:51
ThiagoCMCI also noticed that the "scripts/bootstrap-aio.sh" fail if you run it a second/third time.16:08
ThiagoCMCTASK: "system_niunt : Download EPEL gpg keys", the message is a bit misleading, because I'm on Ubuntu.16:09
jrosser_skipped though, i expect?16:11
ThiagoCMCNope, fatal error, playbook stopped16:12
ThiagoCMCIt happens with with Rocky 8 too, second run of "bootstrap-aio.sh" fails on same spot16:13
jrosser_the best thing to do is give some good context for that and file a bug16:13
ThiagoCMCOkdok - I'll collect more info for now while I'm testing this over and over =)16:14

NeilHanlonruh roh sounds like jrosser_'s gonna start assigning me bugs 16:46

noonedeadpunkThiagoCMC: eventually rally thing is kind of known and we've patched it mostly16:48
noonedeadpunkhttps://review.opendev.org/c/openstack/openstack-ansible-os_rally/+/84922716:48
noonedeadpunkbut yes, it's not released yet16:49
ThiagoCMCOk, cool, I'm testing stable/yoga now  =)16:49
spateljamesdenton ^17:06
spateli saw your comments on my kvm microphone issue.. do you have any idea17:06
spatelAudio working fine on windows RDP but microphone not :(17:06
ThiagoCMCI'm testing the `scripts/bootstrap-aio.sh` over and over, if it's a fresh run, all good! A second time it fails on the same spot (tested on both Ubuntu 20.04 and Rocky 8). What's the best place to fill a bug report?18:37
spateljamesdenton nevermind i figured out :)18:47
spatelin side windows RDP there is one more service we need to enable call Remote desktop services > Remote desktop session host 18:47
spatelNow audio/microphone both working 18:47
ThiagoCMCDo you have a QEMU Instance on OpenStack with virtual audio devices?18:54
noonedeadpunkThiagoCMC: bugs are here https://bugs.launchpad.net/openstack-ansible ;)19:06
noonedeadpunkalso FYI in-person PTG has been cancelled and it will be online as we used to19:10
noonedeadpunkFYI it was more to everybody in the channel :D19:11
spatelThiagoCMC no19:12
noonedeadpunkThiagoCMC: fwiw, I don't think that bootstrap-aio was ever desinged to be re-usable 19:13
noonedeadpunkIt's a one-shot thing basically19:13
noonedeadpunkthat messes up with environment pretty much19:13
spatelThiagoCMC windows emulate audio/mic in software and pass to RDP session 19:13
noonedeadpunkit likely deserves more love though19:14
noonedeadpunkthough, I can't reproduce the issue. Just ran bootstrap-aio.sh 3 times and all is good. Though I see how it re-generates systemd-networkd config each damn time19:16
noonedeadpunkOn Ubuntu 20.04 just in case19:16
noonedeadpunkAlways get `localhost                  : ok=126  changed=6    unreachable=0    failed=0    skipped=37   rescued=0    ignored=0 `19:23

ThiagoCMCCool! I thought that it was audio on the QEMU in OpenStack... Never managed to make it work.  lol19:47
ThiagoCMCSo, found another problem, "TASK [ceph-facts : generate cluster fsid]" failed, error: 19:48
ThiagoCMC"The task includes an option with an undefined variable. The error was: 'ansible.vars.hostvars.HostVarsVars object' has no attribute 'discovered_interpreter_python'"19:48

jrosser_ThiagoCMC: we don’t have any CI jobs which test Rocky + Ceph, so I’m not surprised that it fails21:12
ThiagoCMCI'm running it like this: `openstack-ansible setup-infrastructure.yml -e "ansible_python_interpreter=/usr/bin/python3"` - it worked then!21:25
jrosser_excellent - sounds like another bug to file :)21:28
jrosser_though that does slightly surprise me because I thought we already do something like that https://github.com/openstack/openstack-ansible/blob/master/scripts/bootstrap-ansible.sh#L7221:30
ThiagoCMCSounds cool!  lol23:44
ThiagoCMCAnother one!23:44
ThiagoCMCOn Ubuntu 20.04 works, perfectly.23:44
ThiagoCMCBut on Ubuntu 22.04, bootstrap-aio.sh and scenario with barbican and ceph, fails:23:44
ThiagoCMC"Failed to update apt cache: E:The repository 'https://download.ceph.com/debian-pacific jammy Release' does not have a Release file."23:45
ThiagoCMCApparently there isn't Ceph 16 for Ubuntu 22.04 from ceph.com, only Ceph 17 from Ubuntu default repositories...23:46
ThiagoCMCWill OSA 'stable/yoga' work with Ceph 17 on Jammy?23:46
