noonedeadpunkI wonder if this new zuul release affects our jobs http://lists.zuul-ci.org/pipermail/zuul-announce/2021-June/000096.html05:31
noonedeadpunkwe don't use `ansible_python_interpreter` inside job defenition at least...05:31
*** rpittau|afk is now known as rpittau07:30
jrosseri was thinking that was for the ansible executed directly from playbooks in zuul jobs directory07:33
jrosserbut not for anything in our "embedded" ansible that we install ourselves07:33
noonedeadpunkyes, totally that's for zuul's ansible07:37
ygk_12345Hi all12:21
ygk_12345Can someone tell me how to use the facts collected by openstack-ansible in the location /etc/openstack_deploy/ansible_facts  in a playbook  ?12:22

spotzCongrats on the release everyone!!13:58
opendevreviewMerged openstack/openstack-ansible-os_glance master: Changed minversion in tox to 3.18.0  https://review.opendev.org/c/openstack/openstack-ansible-os_glance/+/79935513:58
opendevreviewMerged openstack/openstack-ansible-os_keystone master: Changed minversion in tox to 3.18.0  https://review.opendev.org/c/openstack/openstack-ansible-os_keystone/+/79937914:22
opendevreviewMerged openstack/openstack-ansible-os_nova stable/ussuri: Install gcc on any nova-compute hosts which need libvirt-devel  https://review.opendev.org/c/openstack/openstack-ansible-os_nova/+/79695714:30
strattaohas anyone ever done an opinionated writeup of openstack-ansible-ops? It looks like there are some good tools in there with ELK, prometheus, grafana, etc. I think it would be interesting to hear about what people feel are indispensable tools for monitoring/metrics/operations that any well-running cloud just shouldn't live without.14:39
noonedeadpunkI know ppl are using ELK, not sure about the rest. Also dunno if we have some good docs about these things...14:40
noonedeadpunkeventually ops repo has been created for exactly this purpose, but didn't have love it needs14:41

mgariepyhalf o/15:00
* jrosser in another meeting :/15:08
noonedeadpunk#topic office hours15:18
noonedeadpunkok, sorry, got distracted as well:)15:22
noonedeadpunkso first thing - we've released Wallaby! And there's a patch to continue Xena cycle https://review.opendev.org/c/openstack/openstack-ansible/+/79892015:22
noonedeadpunkAs currentlly our master is in freezed state15:23
mgariepyyay ! congrats !15:23
noonedeadpunknext thing related to that - I'm about to push deprecation patches for panko role, since panko is deprecated on it's own15:23
noonedeadpunkAnd eventually I think we need to drop support for CentOS 8 (leave only Stream), Debian buster and Ubuntu 18.0415:24
noonedeadpunkany thoughts?15:25
mgariepyubuntu 20.04 ?15:25
jrosserwe should do that pretty much now on master i think?15:26
noonedeadpunkwell, master passes for all of them atm15:26
mgariepyare rocky/alma avalaible on the CI ?15:26
jrossermost compelling i guess would be to stretch out support for bionic if possible15:26
noonedeadpunkConsidering RHEL amount of contributions? I don't think it will ever be...15:26
noonedeadpunkyou mean leave bionic for X as well?15:27
jrosserif we wanted to keep any of them, that probably has the most users15:27
noonedeadpunkthat's true15:27
jrosserelse we decide to reduce the CI load as quickly as possible15:27
noonedeadpunkwell, considering 18.04 has support till April 2022, we can leave it technically15:29
noonedeadpunkthe only doubt I have - new ansible-core "requirement" is python 3.815:30
noonedeadpunkIt might still work on 18.04 with py36 though15:30
noonedeadpunkAnd I don't think we should hold ansible beacuae of bionic?15:31
jrosserpyenv?15:32
noonedeadpunkwell, that's another way of solving it.15:32
noonedeadpunkbtw, I'm not sure about centos 8 stream and py38. Even with pyenv I think it would be missing libselinux15:32
noonedeadpunkI was actually under impression, that nova about to add some qemu requirement that bionic won't satisfy15:37
noonedeadpunkbut might be I'm wrong...15:37
noonedeadpunkOk, another thing - I want to create roles for Freezer 15:37
noonedeadpunkanybody around looked at it ever?:)15:38
noonedeadpunkin terms that maybe it's known not to work and I shouldn't even start wasting time for adding it15:38
noonedeadpunkaccording to service architecture it should be 2 repos actually - for api and agent deployment, like monasca15:40
noonedeadpunkunless we want them to merge and use tasks_from?15:41
noonedeadpunkAlso I was going to create vault repo for https://specs.openstack.org/openstack/openstack-ansible-specs/specs/xena/protecting-plaintext-configs.html 15:45
noonedeadpunkut ok, let's try to keep bionic, and see where we end up...15:55
