idlemindtux_ all playbooks can be limited to a container or host additionally you can run the plays more individually to speed up there execution. last, osa ships with a repository cache built into it's processes. it also should cache the git repo's beyond that you might actually have some internet slowness towards the sources. the overall setup-everything can take 2+ hours to run though. it's doing a lot everytime.01:10
idlemindtux_ yes internal and external vip should be redundant01:10

andymccrif you want radosgw/keystone you'd just need to create the endpoint/users - to match in radosgw - in keystone.14:08

sxc731Previously if you had a VG called 'lxc', OSA would automatically use that as the backing store and this is still implied by the documentation https://docs.openstack.org/project-deploy-guide/openstack-ansible/queens/targethosts.html#configuring-the-storage; in Queens, it looks like it just lays everything on the root filesystem?16:47

tomtom001Hell18:29
tomtom001sorry18:29
tomtom001hello, I'm trying an upgrade to queens, but dynamic inventory says "Cannot retrieve requested amount of IP addresses. Increase the container range in your openstack_user_config.yml."  However, I've used /24 and verified that only 88 ip's are being used, is this a bug?18:30
tux_./inventory-manage.py -l  did you see anything else here?18:32
tomtom001hmmm.... I'll check18:32
tomtom001Yeah it shows me the 88 hosts that are part of my current openstack install18:34
jrosserhave you reserved a bunch of the mgmt net addresses like this? https://github.com/openstack/openstack-ansible/blob/master/etc/openstack_deploy/openstack_user_config.yml.prod.example#L7-L1118:35
tomtom001You can see it here: http://paste.openstack.org/show/721510/18:35
tomtom001Yes I will show you it: http://paste.openstack.org/show/721511/18:37
tomtom001There are only about 10 - 15 reserved addresses18:39
tomtom001They are accurate18:39

tomtom001so how is that a problem with only 88 used?18:49
jrosseri don't think you can format the used_ips line like you have18:49
tux_try to delete .json file and see18:49
jrosserhttps://github.com/openstack/openstack-ansible/blob/bead62e4551cb3a972201385803c94bdfbb30301/etc/openstack_deploy/openstack_user_config.yml.example#L91-L9518:50
jrosseri suspect it should be a list where each entry is a single ip, or a range18:50
tomtom001Ok, that seems plausible, let me try18:51

tux_for single entry it should be on new line ?18:56
tomtom001this format worked in pike, just wondering why it failed in queens?18:57
tux_in short you need to put range in "1.1.1.1-10"18:58
tux_double quote ?18:58
jrosseryou can run the dynamic inventory script by hand with --debug and that might give some info18:59
