bjornar_admin0, Yeah..11:29
admin0;)11:29
bjornar_admin0, seems openstack-ansible has a dependency on br-vxlan for fetching ip address and so on.. I do not want this on l2. Want it directly routed, so I need to place the neutron-agent-container on host, not inside container11:30
kysse_..11:30
kysse_you are completely lost11:30
admin0you do not need to change anything for  directly-routerd or floating-ip offering11:31
bjornar_kysse_, why do you say this?11:31
admin0even within containers, you can do that11:31
kysse_read all documentations.11:31
admin0they are how you add neutron net and subnet offering11:31
admin0or i am lost :D11:31
bjornar_I am talking about the underlaying network11:31
*** woodard has quit IRC11:32
bjornar_And my setup dont have a single l2 broadcast domain, but a broadcast domain per-rack, cumulus LNV to provide "global" broadcast domains for management network for example, which will basically use a vlan to the TOR, then encap in vxlan and route..11:33
kysse_I think it might be easier to route vlan instead of vxlan11:34
kysse_idk, never routed vxlan.11:35
bjornar_route vlan!=11:36
kysse_... ye I said it wrong :D11:37
bjornar_So, because if this I need the container services that needs to work with tenant networks to be on host and not inside a container11:38
bjornar_I guess I should just set is_metal: true to neutron_agents_container ?11:38
bjornar_openstack-ansible is really not happy with running on l311:41
bjornar_..but I mostly manage to trick it. Only management network that seems to need a global l2 domain, unless I do something drastic11:42
*** mattronix has quit IRC11:46
bjornar_When I change a service from container to is_metal ... is there any way to do a clean rebuild?11:47
bjornar_seems the inventory is cached, what happends if I remove this cache?11:47
bjornar_the openstack-inventory.json11:48
bjornar_Anyone, what can I do when I make changes in env.d? .. the openstack-inventory.json is not updated..11:53

odyssey4mebjornar_ yes, change the is_metal flag to make the services run on a host instead of in a container12:38
odyssey4menetworking is not my forte, but I can tell you that OSA is able to accommodate any architecture - the trick is understanding how to do it in Neutron first - then applying it to OSA12:39
odyssey4mebjornar_ you can remove the cache - just don't kill the inventory12:39
odyssey4methe two are different12:39
odyssey4meif you want to remove containers, use the container destroy play to kill the container, then use the inventory-manage script to delete it from your inventory12:39
bjornar_odyssey4me, sure, but seems I can not make this change in inventory without killing inventory12:40
bjornar_I know how I want neutron to function, no problem12:40
bjornar_ok.. could perhaps have used the inventory-manage, dont know12:41

admin0lets say I want to add /22 in flat network .. if I add it as one network, wont it put all on one big broadcast domain ?18:21
admin0can i subdivide it internally via neutron18:21
admin0so that i add /22  in networks, but chunks via sub-networks ?18:21
admin0not sure i am able to explain18:21
