kata-irc-bot<leevn2011> Hi, I have been wondering does the following command report the kata container startup time from the beginning of cmd execution  to the network stack being successfully initialised.  I am trying to figure out how long does it take for a kata container to startup to the point of network stack being initialised `time docker run --runtime=kata-qemu ubuntu:eoan`  :slightly_smiling_face:07:10

kata-irc-bot<graham.whaley> Hi @leevn2011 - that command looks like it will measure the time for the complete container creation, including network... we have a test that can try to measure the different stages for you - have a look at https://github.com/kata-containers/tests/tree/master/metrics/time  Also, you will want to take measurements more than once - say at least 20 times, and then look at the average, and noise/variance. You can use the existing08:45
kata-irc-bottool https://github.com/kata-containers/tests/tree/master/metrics/report to help do this ;)08:45
kata-irc-bot<graham.whaley> @leevn2011 if you want to see an example of the type of output you will get from the report tool, have a look at https://github.com/kata-containers/packaging/pull/1030#issuecomment-62131882108:48
kata-irc-bot<leevn2011> @graham.whaley Thank you so much.  This is really helpful. :slightly_smiling_face:  :pray:08:51
