kata-irc-bot<paul.e.luse> @julio.montes hi, finally able to try the suggestion you had about adding custom options to the qemu cmd line and I’m thinking I have something simple wrong because it’s kidna close. I change the “path” to an executable bash script and anything I put in there give me back this error message, I’ve tried other options that I figured would be simple/harmless and nothing works. Any suggestions?18:30
kata-irc-bot<paul.e.luse> my bash: #!/bin/bash qemu-vanilla-system-x86_64 “$@,-h”18:30
kata-irc-bot<paul.e.luse> my error: sudo docker run hello-world docker: Error response from daemon: OCI runtime create failed: fail to launch qemu: exit status 1, error messages from qemu log: qemu-vanilla-system-x86_64: -smp 1,cores=1,threads=1,sockets=72,maxcpus=72,-h: Invalid parameter ‘-h’: unknown. ERRO[0002] error waiting for container: context canceled18:30
kata-irc-bot<paul.e.luse> and also is there anywhere that I can find (a) the full qemu command line being used to launch the container and (b) the associated qemu log?18:32
kata-irc-bot<julio.montes> @paul.e.luse dont use double quotes18:43
kata-irc-bot<julio.montes> qemu-vanilla-system-x86_64   $@    -more-options18:43
kata-irc-bot<julio.montes> also make sure your new options are compatibles with that version of qemu18:44

kata-irc-bot<paul.e.luse> @julio.montes yeah I tried without the quotes and even without any options it fails like this: docker: Error response from daemon: OCI runtime create failed: fail to launch qemu: exit status 1, error messages from qemu log: qemu-vanilla-system-x86_64: no_timer_check: Could not open ‘no_timer_check’: No such file or directory: unknown. ERRO[0002] error waiting for container: context cancele20:02
kata-irc-bot<paul.e.luse> but just adding the quotes, no options, works fine20:03
kata-irc-bot<paul.e.luse> I also tried the ‘standard’ version of qemu and multiple options and just keep getting that error message invalid param.  That’s part of why I was asking about findind the full qemu line somewhere for the working case so I can see what works (and also where I can find the log that the error messages references)20:04
