peschk_l | cymile: Hi! Yes, it is the expected behavior. When two flat mappings apply to a metric for a given period, only the most expensive is applied | 11:22 |

cymile | Thanks peschk_l! | 13:18 |
cymile | other question, what is the expected behaivor of cloudkitty in case of power off or suspend intances, or a compute node failure? Is the service still calculating during periods of failure for an instance?. I made a test with a vm and a mapping for a compute service metric and when I powered off the instance, Cloudkitty was charging a value during this period of instance inactivity | 13:27 |
peschk_l | cymile: well this depends on ceilometer. We rate on a collect period (3600s by default) basis, so if there is any activity in gnocchi for the given period, cloudkitty will charge for the given period | 13:35 |
peschk_l | for example, if you halt the instance from 14h30 to 15h15, and ceilometer pushes a measure at 14h10, the whole 14h-15h period will be charged | 13:36 |
cymile | ok peschk, thanks for the explanation | 13:39 |
