kodiak_fFound a nasty gotcha - if you set ara_playbook_name var on playbooks, then run playbooks via "import_playbook" tasks - last var wins for the whole run.  I don't see how this can be avoidable but that's just how life goes20:08
dmsimardah, hmmm20:25
dmsimardthe current behavior makes it so the name is updated if the current name doesn't match so that's why the last one would win20:26
dmsimardI suppose we could keep the first one instead but then the following ones would be "discarded" which might also be a gotcha20:27
dmsimardwe could create an issue on github even if just to document the behavior but I don't see a way around other than to have a configuration toggle to control precedence20:28
kodiak_fYep - it almost needs a sticky variable20:33
kodiak_flike meta_ara_playbook_name:20:33
kodiak_fBUT - it's a fringe case - how many other dopes are out there actually making meta playbooks that are nothing but a bunch of 'import_playbook:' tasks20:34
kodiak_fI'm guessing not many20:34
dmsimardit's actually pretty common in my experience20:41
dmsimardlike a "site.yaml" that imports a bunch of individual playbooks20:42
dmsimardso you can run everything with a playbook or run the other ones individually on a need basis20:42
kodiak_fIn light of that, thoughts on proliferating yet another ARA variable within plays?20:44
dmsimardnothing is impossible :p20:45
dmsimardif you create an issue we can find out what's the right approach -- labels would have a similar problem20:46
dmsimardI do offer a workaround for the time being: if you set an ara_playbook_name extra var (ansible-playbook foo.yml -e ara_playbook_name=foo) it won't be overwritten by subsequent playbooks due to extra vars precedence20:47
kodiak_fOK sounds great - I'll try to get a story written in GH21:18
