briantist | dmsimard: the demo server seems to be having issues, https://web.demo.recordsansible.org/playbooks/1610 | 20:55 |
---|---|---|
dmsimard | briantist: o/ ara-web is broken and I'm not a javascript person https://github.com/ansible-community/ara-web/issues/29 | 21:33 |
dmsimard | I recommend using the built-in UI for now, demo'ed at https://api.demo.recordsansible.org | 21:34 |
briantist | oh hm ok, I didn't realize the API server would have even had an interface, mostly my misunderstanding of the components having not looked too closely. But I might recommend taking down the web demo link or making it more explicit that it's expected to be down, and that the API server does have a UI. Just an opinion from the perspective of someone brand new taking a look at it 🙂 | 21:37 |
dmsimard | agreed | 21:40 |
dmsimard | it was never intended to be broken but it fell out of maintenance and contributors :/ | 21:41 |
dmsimard | on one hand, if I remove every mention of it, it won't get the attention it needs | 21:42 |
dmsimard | I'll think about it | 21:42 |
briantist | yeah it happens, totally understandable. as someone just looking at it for the first time, it's harder to understand the difference between the api and web projects, and so it looks like ARA as a whole fell out of maintenance/support, so if I hadn't happened to just find out I could ping someone on IRC 😅 I may have just passed over it thinking it unstable | 21:43 |
briantist | yeah it's a good point about it not getting attention if it disappears completely though | 21:44 |
